Anything but Seagate is a poor choice.
Whether it's SCSI or IDE. But just don't buy those cheapo's from Best Buy, those are the shittiest drives Seagate makes which are made for computers that come on like 1 time every three months. |

"SplitInfinity, you need to buy some clockworks now and build yourself a new shop clock outta that trashed disk and dead heads!"
Now thats a great idea! We could make alot of clocks actually because we have soooo many dead drives piled up. :-) |

I have a WD Caviar SE 200GB hdd and the only time it fucked up on me was due to a virus that fucked my partition table and the master boot record. Besides that I have not had one single problem and my pc is on 24/7.

you know come to think of it... putting two and two together...
I have 2 seagate external backup drives, and 2 western digital. Right now one WD is completely fucked, and the other I don't use because it sometimes gives errors in tranferring data. On the other hand, the seagates have been trouble free so far. |

![]() I had an IBM 8.4Gb drive sitting in a server for 5 years; still used it for a few more after that. I eventually retired it because the capacity was too small. It still works. |

I will never buy a Western Digital again. I had over 5 of them so out on me. That was over 5 years ago but I still hold a grudge.
