Downtown Milwaukee=$90k-$120k is the average

Suburbs (where i live)=they dont start under $200k, and thats just for a 2-bedroom ranch. for an actual house, you're lookin at $300k easily.

most houses are 100-150k here. Haven't found anything I like though. There are a couple that are at 400k but that is too much for me right now.

It was a great deal, couldn't pass it up....but that's Southern Arizona for you. They build brand new, huge houses and it costs next to nothing. Our house has already increased in value $20k too. : )

$1.3 Million will buy you a 15 year old fixer-upper here in Maui.
$800k will get you a decent 1000sqft condo.

Suburban Portland west hills, $490,000 for 3000 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 3 car garage, 2 stories, + upgrades (granite, hardwood, wetbar, jacuzzi).

Same house in California I am told would be easily six figures.

well, IF your business is web marketing, and IF you have good connectivity, the world is your oyster.

there are places in the world where you can own property for a few hundred thousand that would cost 10-20 million in california.

and the sun shines and sets, just like it does in the good 'ol USA

The wife and I are planning on building a home ourselves soon, hopefully to move into by the summer. Around here, the rule of thumb is $120 per sq.ft.

Hilarious, my house is 1,400 sq. ft. and is worth 1.1 million here in Newport Beach. My lot is just shy of 10k sq. ft.
