It's probably one of the many ICQ spambots, I was getting several a day for a while (possibly because my ICQ number is below one million), but it's been quiet lately.

If it starts again, I'll start grabbing ip addresses of the spambots, and do some 'investigation'.

lol

an icq spam bot registers hundreds of new accounts a day. closing accounts after complaints won't help at all. they use software that automaticly blocks accounts that send too many messages too fast and they block ip adresses that log in to their server too often & too fast. it's the only thing they can do. try sending 20 messages in 10 seconds or so, and you'll see that icq server will kick you off and won't allow you to reconnect for an hour or so...

as for the 'your message here' spam
i think that's the default message for some icq spam software and stupid spam newbies forgot to insert their massage there lol

Is this realy true?
You're not safe if you use ICQ? Or you can be hacked only if you open files send by someone using ICQ?

If someone has been hacked through ICQ, please let us know!
If I use Norton Internet Security, can I still be hacked through ICQ ?

lol, you guys should hang out on IRC a little and see all the kiddies who will try to root your box, it's not by sending you a file attachment they will do it, but by using flaws they can exploit to run arbitrary code on your machine.

Remember, it's not because your clients follow the protocol that there is'nt clients that don't.
