Ebay pros, how can I make sure I win an item on ebay?

Im not that experienced with ebay, and theres an item I HAVE to have, and I know 1 other person is bidding on it too.

Im the high bidder and I dont want to get snipered and lose the auction.

what can I do to make sure I win the item? I cant up my bid anymore because im the high bidder right now.

Monitor it closely, don't bid too much, and at the very last minute, bid high and you'll get it

You can still input a higher bid even if you're the high bidder. The auction price won't go up, but your high bid will remain in the system.

You can do something crazy and bid like 10 times what the item is worth if you wanna guarantee a win.

You can check this out and see if it does the trick.

http://www.snipeswipe.com/

If not, there are other sniper programs out there.

if I have 2 browser windows open right before it ends, and in one window I just hit refresh, refresh, refresh, and the other window I have a high bid ready, will that method work?

I heard theres some kind of software that snipers the bid and I dont want to lose to that software

Oh i didnt know you could do that.

So i could put in a highest bid for like $400, and if the other persons highest bid is $60, then Id only pay like $61, or whatever in that range?

you made a mistake because you did bid already...I don't bid till the last 20 seconds. And be sure to use Auction Sentry ( http://www.auction-sentry.com/download.htm )

I've been using http://www.esnipe.com and it ROCKS !!! I've won many auctions using it. It's great because I'm not much for remembering to check an auctions, so when there's something I want, I just head over to esnipe and put in my bid for it to do the bidding for me at the last second

They have a free trial and once it's over, you just buy credits to use which cost like 1% of the auction total, so if you win something for $50, it costs you 50 cents, that's definately worth it.

Esnipe even has a nice feature which is beautiful. Say for instance you want an item and there's 4 auctions running. Well, you can have Esnipe bid on each item before it ends, but what it does is wait for you to win one, then it cancels the other bids.

You DEFINATELY wanna snipe the auction at the end. You NEVER EVER EVER EVER wanna bid on it before then because that's just gonna bring the price up higher. Say you outbid someone, well they're either gonna outbid you or watch the auction closely at the end to jump back in.

yep... the only downside is that the dude could be an asshole and totally jack up the price. if he turns around and bids $350, you're gonna end up paying $355.

Wait till the last seconds, than place a bid for the maximum you are willing to pay for the item! Ebay is setup that if the other persons max is below yours, that you will win, plus you will pay just above what his/her max was!

Show no interest in the item until the last couple of moments, with 2 minutes left, place a high bid on it knowing it will never go that high. The one competing will be very conservative and will run out of time.

I have never lost an auction and been buying on Ebay since the year they started.

I said it above and I'll say it again, NEVER bid on an auction, ALWAYS snipe it if you want the lowest price. When you bid early and putting in higher prices, you're just driving that price up.

Say that you and someone else are interested in an item. If you outbid them early and put in a price a lot higher than what the auction was at, you're gonna give that person a chance to come back to bid the item up or even snipe it out from you.

If you snipe it, BOOM, it's last second, nothing they can do and like I say, it keeps the bidding down. You never want to get into a bidding war.

Take it from someone that has 273 feedback
