APIC Will Make Me Rich
Of course APIC is going after TGP owners. It would be a problem to track down the 5 million gallery builders and attack them one at a time. It's time consuming and it also doesn't produce results. Whether a gallery maker has a license for those pics or not it's easier for them to just start submitting their galleries under a new domain or freehost and make the APIC problem go away. Nothing changes.
APIC going after the top thousand TGPs makes sense though. No TGPs = no reason to build galleries. Since APIC does not investigate the legitimacy of complaints and requires no proof of actual ownership by complainants to send threatening emails to TGPs, I have a plan. 1) Open SigmundFreudAdultContent.com and mail complaints to APIC about the content on galleries linked to by the top 1000 tgps. It doesn't matter whether any of the TGPs have links to pages with unlicensed pics. The top 1000 TGP owners and all their hosting companies will be immediately buried under a barrage of shrill, hysterical, threatening hate mail which will intimidate TGP owners who aren't bright enough to have their own attorney (most). 2) Open a web hosting business in a country outside the easy reach of US based civil lawsuits. Any of the tax shelter nations would due but the Caribbean ones would be the most fun to visit. Incorporate my business with no assets, making my new web hosting company judgment proof. Even if somebody actually paid a lawyer (hahaha) to sue such a company in the court of jurisdiction where the servers were located and the company was incorporated and won damages, there would be no funds. 3) Have my APIC proof hosting company email the intimidated top 1000 TGP owners and get their business. 4) Since one of the top 1000 TGPs APIC would have harassed at the insistance of SigmundFreudAdultContent.com would have been mine, and since the allegations APIC failed to use diligence in investigating first would have been false, I'll use the cash flow from my new 1000 web hosting customers to sue APIC for their reckless disregard for the truth and their damage to my falsely accused TGP. Since APIC has no money when I win I'll settle for the rights to their infamous name and fabulous web site. 5) With my new APIC site I'll take over their racket and continue to drive all new TGPs that spring up to my Caribbean web hosting company. Of course I'll share the opportunity by opening APIC-Cash.com and allow gallery builders to scare the TGP owners for a cut of the hosting they sign up. I'll be richer than Bill Gates. |

"APIC going after the top thousand TGPs makes sense though. No TGPs = no reason to build galleries."
You are wrong bro... in case you didn't notice -- it's easier to build a TGP than it is to build a gallery... like you said there are thousands of TGP's out there -- people submit them to my site every day... "The top 1000 TGP owners and all their hosting companies will be immediately buried under a barrage of shrill, hysterical, threatening hate mail which will intimidate TGP owners who aren't bright enough to have their own attorney (most)." This will never happen -- because there's no problem pushing legal galleries... But think about it -- when illegal gallery sites started getting shut down years ago -- people started spreading out -- they moved to freehosts... If you shut down TGP's -- the traffic will just move elsewhere... Maybe you will see more anonymous TGP's on freehosts. A TGP can be just as elusive as a gallery... This is the fucking internet... you can hide anything in the internet and still be totally anonymous -- information wants to be free... Of course you can always follow the money -- but you can't necessarily follow the traffic... Maybe call it "laundered traffic" -- I'm pretty sure this APIC stuff won't change much of anything. I'm against stealing images -- because I lose money... but you can't stop it. There will always be free unlicensed stolen pics -- period. Look at the warez industry... There's no way to pin it down -- it's been elusive since the early 80's... Anyway traffic isn't *created* by TGP's -- surfers create traffic. There's TONS of traffic out there that is not from the big TGP's... Also many sites that aren't TGP's post galleries... "TGP" and "Gallery" -- this is just terminology... the lines of which are blurred by more creative webmasters on a daily basis. I've got thumbs to pics on my site -- gallery listings, link listings... Am I a TGP? Am I a link list? Am I a gallery? Am I a pic post? No... but I still have traffic ;) ------------------ Oh Baby! TheFLY.net |

I don't get it...
1) From what I understand the TGPs that have been "shut down" were supposedly making THEIR OWN illegal galleries and linking to them. 2) I haven't seen any TGP that was "shut down" where this wasn't alleged to be the case. Am I missing something? 3) APIC can not shut anyone down, but they can, of course, not go after you if you do. 4) Anyone that shuts down their site that is not making their own illegal galleries is silly. You have no more liability than Yahoo or Google. Am I missing something? What is the big deal if these people really are linking to their own stolen content - they shouldn't be doing that? Have any of the people accused said this wasn't true? ------------------ TopBucks.com - Converting at better than 1:130 David Lace Content - Highest Quality Teen Content ConversionCash.com - Make Money off your WebTV Traffic |
