I hope you are getting some winter tires for it.I have an M3smg and the stock conti 19"s are terrible on snow and low temps

.I have a set of Mille's with 18" dunlop M3 wintersports .I'm in the snowbelt and it's driveable now.

i've owned both mercedes and BMW. although i really liked my SL500, i would have to say go with the ultimate driving machine ;-)

if money was no object then mercedes mclaren. mercedes win out by a long way on the high range i think.

if money was an object, which it is for all of us, then id go for an audi 3.2 quattro.

however at the moment im mercedes hunting, looking to pick up a nice e500 or c32 amg :) probably will buy in the summer when ive got some cash set aside

well owning my bmw 330ci for year and a half I never get bored with it, everytime I get in, start the car, put it in first gear I have smile on my face =) I'm planning to upgrade to //M3 sometime... also BENZ is less reliable then BMW.... btw if you want alot of info about e46 cars check e46fanatics.com

wow.. i know bmw make awesome cars but i always thought and hear from people they are behind audi and merc in terms of reliability

nope, bmw did make top5 reliable cards, mers is nowhere to be found...

bmw>mers>audi in terms of reliability, but of course honda/toyota owns them all in that department ;)

i used to own an audi, best damn car i had, i used to drive from here to west virginia, 130 the whole way, that car held the road like you would not beleive,
i ran thatcar to death 350k miles when i sold it,

I personally prefer Audi's (that RS6 ohhh) but anyway this brands are a class on their own and aren't like the rest :)

My convertible Audi A4 3.2 is fantastic. I look for reasons to drive it. You would have to spend 25g to 35g more to get a comparable Mercedes (according to Consumer Reports)

I would rather put bling bling into my kids education than my car. I get plenty of compliments from chicas but who cares? Any lady that is impressed with me just because of the car I drive is not going to interest me in the long haul anyway...

BMW only. Mercedes quality is pretty bad in the last years, even the president of the company told, that they need to do a lot of work in the next years. Because the quality and reliability went to shit...

I've owned many VWs (76 Rabbit, 86 GTI & 96Golf) in my time and love them all.

ALL my brothers as well my sista has and/or still do own BMWs (M3, 325IX - hands down my favourite, 540, 745 and a few others).

One of my bros owned a Merc but sent it back after a few short months and went back to BMWs.

Mercs are for exec with drivers -- I love driving too much so I find them to be boring cars to drive (with the exception of the odd additions, like the SL600) and the body style is also Zzzz.

BMWs are for drivers[!] with big pockets ... drive em as hard as the service invoice hits you.

VWs are for drivers that spent their cake in other areas of life (such as skiing) like me... beat the living shit out of the car and it will love you even more!

I've spent many many years in high-end body shops (Eurasia in Edmonton, Burrard in Vancouver) as well I detailed BMWs for Bavaria and have DRIVEN many many many cars so my opinion and experience is not online or magazine based.

If Price doenst mean anything then I'll take the CL65 AMG Benz, After that I'll taket he M5... and I'll never atake an Audi :)

If you read any Car and Driver or Road and Track BMW has been the benchmark for quite some time. Although Mercedes is a wonderful car and the higher line Models are very nice. BMW in the 30-50k range is unbeatable for the driving experience.

The new 5 series ( around 50k, part 540) would be your best bet. Great power, unique styling, top of the line features.
But then again... nothing beats an M3 for that money.

benz all the way, BMW is a brand for rich old white women, i would never drive one.

I have a 525I and I love it. I like all 3 makes of cars that you mentioned though.

I hit 130 in my a4 and got scared... not because of how fast it was going... but because it wanted to go faster and had plenty of power left to do so... freaked me out.

My Dinan S2 M5 shown above is only 500 ponies and to be honest with you might be faster then my CL65 AMG with 600 ponies.

The M5 is going into Dinan for a super charger in a few weeks to put it to 650 horses :)

This is MERCEDES OF COURSE guys... I use Mercedes, my brother have MERCEDES and all my friends use MERSEDESSES because its the best.... Few from them was use BWM before but after they was seat to the MERC their mind about cars was changed forever to MERCEDES!!!!!!!!

dam mad cruising, dont get me wrong i dont mind the M5, but seriously come around Calgary, it is the fad to buy your wife an M5. not sure about anywhere else but around here you will see alot of old women with fur coats in an M5.

BMW is much cheaper the Mercedez... Horsepower to dollar ratio I definately go M5... I love that car. Actually the M3 would be a better bet if you wanted to save money
