Yeah, they sure could. But then they'd need to know how to run, secure, upgrade, and manage a linux server, apache web server, php, perl, and a host of other programs. And if they can do all that, then they definitely should do it all themselves... it's cheaper, and gives you more freedom and control over everything you do. But for those that don't know how to do it, you need to pay someone else to handle it for you. That's what I do, and I do it well. And as far as I know, there's no other host in the business that will pay these kinds of commissions, that's how confident I am in my abilities.

You wanna just be a prick and and turn down an opportunity to make some easy money selling something every single webmaster on the net needs, well then that's your choice.
