In Canada yes, but in places like Germany there are no speed limits.... so you can just say that it was a picture taken on the Autoban.

There was a time when I went back from a meet at night (around midnight) and I was lurking in the second lane at a smooth 120kph in my frog green Opel Corsa 1.0 45hp :) - it was the part of the A5 that leads from the Frankfurt airport to where I live, about 30km south. It's one of the few parts in Germany where you have a 4-lane Autobahn with NO speed limits and it's pretty straight for the 30km, until it splits up.
Anyway - I drove my car almost at top speed (120 :1orglaugh) and suddenly I noticed bright lights in the rear view mirror that seemed to approach really really fast. I noticed that cuz there were barely any other cars on the road.
All of the sudden a McLaren F1 passes me like a fucking lighning in the very left lane, and I swear, he went fast enough to make my car move by the wind pressure that it produced. He must have gone past 300kph, easily.

I thought I shit myself, seriously.

Equinox, that's crazy. wish i had seen it myself. a buddy of mine saw a mclaren get stuck on some kind of a speed bump or some kind of bump on the road and they took an hour to get it off of it. are they really that low?! they took a whole hour because it cost a million bucks, which i can understand that you don't want to damage any of it.

there was a picture of an ocean blue F1 either in this thread or one other long car thread a couple of days ago. lemme see if I can find it

haha, i know! it's also at the top of this page too! but it's hard to tell how low they are. i find with all supercars, that they are actually a lot smaller than they seem. they usually seem very wide and long. (they are wide) but they are actually not so long, it's just that they are so so short. i mean, how often do you see a pic of a lamborghini sitting next to a normal car for comparison?

so anyway, if that mclaren is lower than it seems, that also means its ground clearance is smaller than it seems too. i guess it could get stuck on a road bump!

mclarens are about 4" off the ground. its not that low compared to some of the ricer imports

i plan on getting a poor man's mclaren sometime in the fall. 0-60 in 3.3 seconds with only a 345hp v8. it wont be hard to build a covrette engine to 500hp and be faster than anything on the highway. its kinda ugly, but hellah fast :D

price is 95k + engine/transmission(15k)

Not everywhere in Germany you can go as fast as you want. And there are some matters with insurance to take notice too. I've been to Germany a couple of times but never in the Ferrari or Lamborghini. Tops I did there was 140Mph in a Ford Probe. Tops in the Netherlands (where the max speed is 75Mph) was 181Mph. That was in the Ferrari

Just picked up the Lamborghini last Friday. Damn, that car makes noice. There's a sound system in there with CD player and everything, but I wonder why they even botherd to put that in. I just keep listing to V12 FM! ;-)

Ironically Mclaren used an Ultima kit car to test engine/tranny/electrics when developing the F1.

Of course you cant go as fast as you want everywhere cause that would be crazy.... there are some places however where 230km an hour isnt really fast (first hand experience) but here in Canada the speed limit sux! Only 60Mph :(
