Audiophiles argue that "jitter" (differences in the timing of the 0's and 1's) will affect the quality of the audio, and apparently the expensive cables measure less "jitter".

The truth is that there has never been a double blind listening test performed that proved there is an audible difference between digital cables. It's like throwing your money away.
