Ok, somebody show me proof that drm makes you more money

Somebody please show me that your members are rebilling longer with drm.
Or that it makes you more money than without drm.
After all this talk about it im really curious because personally i think it makes you lose your members and even cause a higher cb ratio.

I have used DRM to drive people to websites and as an alternative revenue stream. It works, period. I just want a better service provider. So far, none have satisfied me.

I don't want to badmouth anyone. Let's just say that in total, I have found a lack of support and documentation, buggy implementation, unfriendly/dysfunctional interfaces and other related problems.

Also, when searching for new providers, I run into the same problems over and over. Non-working demo files, poor documentation, lack of trial product or software and, this one really pisses me off, nearly every one of these companies expects me to fill out long intrusive forms before I get any detailed information. Put your fucking prices and details about your service on your site. This is the age of automation. I do NOT want to fill out a form full of personal information so your "representative" can "contact me". Stop jerking me around. It's gotten to the point now where as soon as I hit the sales pitch form, I just close the window.

www.relishxxx.tv - People can buy a video for $4.95 and get no rebilling. The customer is more willing to buy.

i use it on www.tushyschool.com and www.tushymassage.com and now adding it to all my others sites

retention is better
number of people rejoining is better
amount of my content being found posted on other sites or programs like kazaa NONE

its new and its just a matter of time before everyone who spends real money on content will go DRM, especially if you plan on offering your content on a PPV basis having your regular member site DRM'ed is important.

Tested it on the above sites for about 5 months.

I wont lie and say we dont get emails from members like, it wont work, or why cant I view movies anymore but I look at money and bottom line and its making me and my affiliates more money. Overtime surfers will get used to it, I join tons of porn sites myself and ive been seeing it more and more.

You dont use drm in your membersection. That would be the first mistake.

Give out free movies...

Hint: viral marketing

I would show you proof but I would have to charge you for my consultation fee plus hourly fee.

my sites all are monthly memberships of 29.95 or 3 month for 69.95 so I set it up that as long as they are members they can watch movies and when their user and pass are not valid anymore they cant watch any movies anymore.

Very plain and simple, if you monitor your sites you will be amazed how many people join a site, right away cancel (before even logging into the members area) they download everything you have and now have jerkoff material for a long time and can easily share it with others. I also block more then 3 different IP's per day but that was before DRM as well.

Was just looking at DRMNetwork's site, and I was wondering if anyone has any information how big a demographic the Solaris and Mac OS are? It's showing these platforms as unsupported, and I'm sure they aren't a huge issue, but I'm always leery of automatically excluding market share. Anyone have any insight on this?

Heres some proof for you..

I started a small fake mgp , i let them download the clips if they want. I use drm to run a silent authentication when they view the video, every week i change to new videos, when i change the videos i change the drm authentication on the old videos to run a popup with a password. The popup simply has an email box. " if you wish to continue viewing this video please enter your email address and the password will be sent to you"

So the mgp gets just as many hits as it always did, but now i get about 1000 opt-in emails a week. The email are contracted out for a fee.

Infact i already came up with a cool method for gfy..

Get people like juicy who post videos to use you to drm their videos for them and split the profits.

This way you get an email database of gfy webmasters..

Just make the users have to enter email address and authenticate to view the video..

I wouldn't know exact percentages but the number would be very small. I would assume less than 1%.

Nothing more than you can get 10 to 15k fresh emails daily all sorted by niche if you set 10 servers on the main p2p network with revelant keywords for movies title. ;)

The only work needed after the initial setup , is to resell the email database.

I see some very valid reasons to use DRM technology, not for a monthly membership based site though. I implemented DRM on my site www.sammy4u.com for a few months and I didn't see that people were joining back up to watch the movies they already seen. They join back up at a later date to see the new movies.

I did get alot of complaints and had a huge increase in technical support issues. It was wasting my time trying to explain it everyone who had issues with it. Although many guys understood the need for it they still felt they were getting ripped off.

It does not work for Mac users either. Although that may not be a huge segment of surfers it is still a viable group of surfers I want to be able to market to. It just did not work for us plain and simple.

As others have said their are many ways I can see DRM being an asset to a business model but it needs to be utilized better then just to stop guys from watching your movies after their membership expires.
