What are the functions of sales reps in our...

industry? How do they get paid (commission or + salary?)

I am thinking of hiring and in the process of looking for one.

Please fill me in experts.

We're also hiring affiliate/sales reps. We've worked out a progressive scale so that the Representative can continuously grow their income rather than being bound to a salary and/or menial per/sale payout. If the program is successful, the people helping to maintain and grow that success should share the rewards in a logical manner... whether it be program owner, sales/affiliate rep, or webmaster.

Experienced reps, feel free to contact me.

most sales reps get paid a minor salary and get paid bonuses on commissions. Generally this can be either recurring or one time commissions, it depends on your product and how much salary you give em. If you give them more duties than just selling, then your salary should reflect that.

good luck, this industry eats sales people like snacks. super high turnover. they get hired burned out and move onto the next thing. also, keep in mind that marketing and other things are completely seperate. marketing is not sales. neither is operations.

Depends on the company and what the person is doing. Some get a based Salary, and some get a Salary, plus a small comission. different companies pay different ways.

Its not easy to find a dedicated salesrepp that will put in the necessary efforts, if you do and he or she has a sister or brother, let me know i will take one too skinny...

Honostly, I think giving someone profit sharing is the way to go (only if they can actually perform) I can show you a good salesman contract if you want.

yup your right Marty.. the biz is alot tighter than it used to be, you need to do it to reduce turnover and keep loyalty in your employees. Without that nowadays it just doesnt work (unless you enjoy doing interviews)
