SEO question....

Can you tell me why link popularity is 0.00 for google and 100+ for Altavista.

Is it extremely hard to get google linkbacks?

Does google look on other linkbacks than in there own index?

For some reason Im #5 in Yahoo and Altavista but IM not even there
on that word in Google. I need to type domain.com to see my domain
in google.

All linkbacks are evaluated.

The 'PR4 linkback' notion relates to how G used to show linkbacks. Rather than displaying all the linkbacks, only PR4 and up linkbacks were listed.

This is not the case any longer.

The most important thing is that you have legitimate quality linkbacks. The PR1s may become PR7s some day (or not).

Recently (mid-December), there have been some serious (and surprising) adjustments to SERPs - many in the SEO industry are speculating that who links back to you now can actually affect your standing in SERPs in a NEGATIVE way as well.

Check your link-backs and make sure they are helping you rather than hurting you. Anyone needing help in squashing site scrapers who are stealing your content and traffic, contact me.

this PR4 thing is not true
its bullshit...
google simply limits the amounts of bls they show online for various reasons...
i won't explain why

Hi,

Are you by any chance coming from eastern europe, middle east, africa, or asia?

We do not service those areas (too high risk) and we don't waste bandwidth on them either.

Where are you?

This is not about bandwidth (or you specifically) - this is about choosing to not do business with high risk countries.

The potential losses due to fraud and/or not wanting to do trade with countries holding bad human rights records greatly outweighs the financial benefits of a few potential legitimate customers (possibly such as yourself).

This is no different than the risk management CC processors may apply to whom they choose to conduct commercial transactions with.

Sorry.

You could say it was political issue. And if I want I can log to one of my 15 u.s. servers and view your site.
But why bother?

Good practice indeed, but the whole human rights issue is wrong. It's not just what you see in the media, there are many other aspects.
Try to live here, or get on the bus w/out fearing for you life.

But I can't blame you, it's the media.
