Want me to make a phone call to someone out there?

edit - Let me clarify...... It would only be a call to someone in that building, I can't make any promises or list any more numbers than I have...

I can feel your pain, I am doing reverse phone number searching, peoples names whom I beleive work for dotster to try finding contacts with your whitepages.com and the like.

Im just sitting back, just cracked a beer and i will be online for a few hours. Saturday night for me. Shitty movie re-run so its just music playing in my background here.

Feb 29, 2000 archive, quote. "Advertising on Dotster is provided by Sonar Network"

Dialed them to see if that path would help, voice mail only. =(

i can't understand how they took it either? doesn't make sense as there's no indication in my dotster account of any transfer or the like.

Do you have access to the server/s still, if that doamin is still showing inside your account then it might not be the nameserver.

Did you have a geo install or something? blocking only your ip or ipblock with some form of .htaccess redirect?

Break down the order of operation and eliminate the causes using a fishbone diagram.

if you have domains with dotster, here are a couple of things you need to know.
1)the domains are not on lock by default.you need to go to domain management and order the free service.while you are there add the whois privacy service which is also free.now even though its free you have to hit the continue button and agree with their TOS
2)if you dont want to pay their $14.95 for renewal of your domains but dont want the hassle of transferring out, open up an a/c with www.mydomain.com which is the same crew as dotster but the domains are only $8.50 year. When you have opened up the a/c go back to your dotster control management panel and select move the domains to another account. Then put in the name of your a/c with mydmain.com and the names will be pushed to that control panel and therefore at $8.50 renewal fee.

Directi are scammers based in India.I hate them with a passion. Here is their india contacts:Sales Contact:
Email Address: [email protected]
Tel: +91.2256797501
Fax: +91.2256797504
and here is their US contact phone number.(415) 240 4172

Good Luck.

I had the same problem at RegisterFly. Someone I knew gained access to my email address and that's how he got in and pushed 5 domains to him. He immediately erased all the email confirmations they sent.. Luckily for me, I logged in to my account about an hour later and called RegisterFly after freaking out for about 15 minutes. It was during business hours.

Pretty interesting thread. These registrars hold millions of dollars worth of domains and you can't even get in contact with them on the weekend.

People laugh at me cos I spend a dollar or two extra to use Directnic. I get replies to my trouble tickets on weekends there.

What sort of email was connected to the domain Sleazy? Was it a Yahoo or Gmail type address?

I could be wrong since I registered a url and parked a few later with a hosting company who was using directnic or so the graphics said, I made the phone call when one domain expired and had no reminders. Silly me that I never thought the company would register a new domain with webmaster @ newdomain.com and I never bothered to set up an email account assuming all biz emails would come to the email I used with signup and billing.

The result of the phone call was to contact ItsYourDomain.com. I did email and they said I could reinstate it for x amount of money. I chose not to. Missed out on buying the domain back, but saved the others domains by giving the last for digits of my cc to get emails sent to my main email account from them and renewing the domains is a couple of bucks cheaper than with the company I signed up with.
