a question for CPANEL experts..

when my script try to access from account A (/home/zentz629/public_html/cgi-bin/atx/data/) to another file that is on account B (/home/user1/public_html/cgi-bin/atx/data/trades) , i get this error "Unable to open file /home/user2/public_html/cgi-bin/atx/data/trades/
Please check file permissions and try again"

maybe apache or system is set up so user1 doesn't
have access to user2?

any ideas if this can be fixed through WHM ?

It sounds to me like the script may be misconfigured and trying to read from that wrong directory.

Did you chmod the files correctly? Are you sure both accounts are on the same system?

But you should ask your hosting support about this

this is the response i got from my secondary server management team... #Correct, standard UNIX security and Apache security will 'not' allow you to access directories outside that user's environment. #

i doubt this is a standard cause everything was working well before i updated my apache setup...

SUEXEC is the reason it won't work. Why not just run both as the same user?
That would solve your problem.

They are on the same box, just chown the file you need user 1 to use to user and group of user 1.

man that was winded.

If you have a bunch of users, SUEXEC should be ENABLED.
If you are the only user, than it shouldn't be a problem.

If you have multiple users leave SUEXEC enabled, and try the chown.
