I dont get why some webmasters can bitch about password forums, but then openly admit

To using torrents and downloading mp3s and software without feeling bad.

The same webmasters that were pissed off a few days ago when there were password forums are the same ones posting in torrent threads talking about how they love using it?

Hypocrisy or is it a double standard that singers and artists make more than us so they can afford to have there shit all over the net for free

There is absolutely nothing wrong with downloading music. If anything, you should buy an artist's T-shirt or concert ticket rather than to give all of your money to the record company.

The goal of the record company is to promote the band, and downloading the music does just that. It promotes the band.

I know exactly how that goes...There is ripped software just everywhere. The way I see it, if I have the cash to buy software legit then I'll buy it. The only real purpose warez have for me is to sort of test a new program before I sink my money into it. But the idea of complaining about people gettings password only to turn around and praise torrents is just absurd.

if you download music, and you play it outloud you are promoting their product, which is good for them (even though they didn't make money from you originally). But if someone trades your password, your site is getting no promotion, just boatloads of shitty traffic.
So, they are in a better position than you are.

yep and that's because most webmasters are just shitstains that can't do anything else with their lives so they give away porn for free all day by submitting galleries

I agree. Or offer something unique that can't really be downloaded. For example, I pay to download a shitload of live shows from Primus (www.primuslive.com) and Buckethead (www.bucketheadslivewedges.com) because the aritsts get the money, its not expensive (less than $10 to download an entire 3 CD show), and I can get the whole concert. I think people are tired of getting fucked in the ass by corporate America who sell crap at inflated prices. Its not just record companies, look at how the American auto industry is losing market share to foreign companies, although a lot of the problem there is unionization and making people lazy. But I'll save that rant for another time.

i don't bitch about them usually... i posted a thread the other day cause I got a spam with password trading sites in it, which was unusual to me to get a spam about it....

best thing i do is make sure my sites are protected and pop up the hell out of them when they try and get in....

shit happens, and I agree..cause i download movies and music too....they are always going to exist...

The record industry actually admitted to artificially keeping prices up through illegal deals, so the arrogant bastards can go fuck themselves.

It's called hypocrisy. A very common human trait.

If one pay site had one password that everyone knew and used, both the pay site and model would be hurt by it. In a few years, when the record company falls, the artist will still be alive due to the promotion that word of mouth on a soul seek or DC++ network provided. The same can't be said for paysites and shared passwords.

Porn password stealers are cheap little bastards anyways. They can't be compared to music downloaders being that the people that download music have a better chance of buying merch and tickets, as well as spreading the word. I can't prove it, but if you just take a look around it's pretty obvious. I just bought Anti Flag tickets last month, and a bathory T-shirt a couple days ago. I highly doubt a porn password stealer would do the same for the models they enjoy stealing from.

I don't think it's fair to compare music and porn anyways.

About 8 years ago, I read that the reason why a cd cost 17bucks was cause it cost them 7.00 to make a master. That at the time of that article, it had costed no more then 1.00-2.50 to make a master and the gov demanded all cd's cost under 10.00. The record companies agreed (most) and dropped the prices by a few dollars.

People also download more because of the insane prices that a fucking CD costs now. What does the RIAA expect? For people to become less motivated to download music when it's 20 bucks a CD? The price of a CD is what motivated me to be a hardcore music pirate.
