Maybe Scotty is just expressing himself on a webmaster board - sounds the most relevant place.

On post counts.. they really mean nothing. The adult webmaster world does not revolve around boards and, off the top of my head... most webmasters I know of never have posted here and are most unlikely to post here.

However, they still are owed sums of money by iBill ranging from relatively small amounts to more substantial values. A few have been iBill clients almost since iBill started trading and know exactly what iBill has been like on the ups and downs of their history - they have seen both the sweet and the sour. The latter stand to lose a lot of recurring billing trapped with iBill.

Again.. as probably with most webmasters, few are interested in seeing the demise of iBill. They just want paid for the business they have worked for - not exactly an unreasonable request :-)

I'm not here bashing ibill but I do have an interest in what is said around here about the ibill situation. I'm usually not one to post to boards for the same reason as Scottybunky states...... I've been *literally* online since Early Feb of 1997 and I don't have a lot of posts either. Low posts do not mean that you don't have a say on this board or that you can't gripe because a merchant account hasn't paid you. I was hit so hard back when inetcharge went under that I loaded up in a uhaul and hoped I could borrow enough for a new place to live..... most don't even remember them and they STILL owe me $10s. We are all equal on this board when it comes to topics..... I don't feel that because you have a billion posts you have something better to say or are more educated about something then a person with 15 posts. Just my 2 cents.

Regarding this post count issue, I totally agree a high post count doesnt mean shit but I do think a low post count can be a strong indicator of a troll.

And I also think what Tony was trying to say is, it sure seems like there are alot of ibill bashers around here that could very well have alterior motives, such as working for another processor or someone with something to gain if ibill fails.

Alot of the bashing on ibill around here has been pretty extreme and While I understand and share their frustration I have also questioned some of the motives behind it. Anyone who has monies with ibill certainly has every right to be pissed and feel lied to etc. But does dragging them into the mud and spreading false rumours about them help any of us get paid?

So true..i belive everyone has a right to there own opinion. I can relate to pretty much what EVERYONE has posted in this thread...we all have different ways of reacting and dealing with things like the ibill payment situation....and until you put yourself in somonelses shoes its hard somtines to understand why they feel the way they do.
I know Ibill sent me a check for 4 years straight with really no problems at all....that im definitly gratefull for!! and i KNOW for a fact alot of other people got nice beefy checks from Ibill too...im not saying WE didnt earn our money but i am going to say.this: .If your owed money from ibill for your re-curring membership website ...you need to think back in time to when you first found out about automatic re-bills and how they worked .and what your intial reaction and thoughts were? ..Pardon the pun but lets not "FORGET "where a majority of these rebills come from For any of us to go acting high and mighty about buissnes ethics and the "right thing to do" is a bit hippocritical ..and im sure you can view your own customer service emails for proof of that.. If i can get back what they owe me ...wether it comes from first data..or ibill themself or both i would be estatic...the 6% interest.....great if thats tossed in too ..but its no biggy ..If Ibill can get back to a regular payment schedule by mid-febuary and pay me what they owe me in missed payments and reserves in a reasonable amount of time..i will be able to put these last few months behind me and cross my fingers that i can continue to make a substanial living by re-billing customers without new regulations putting eveything to an end....Nothing lasts forever and to think this gravy train will ..wether you use ibill or any other processor....is foolish to say the least

CURIOUS - of those of you who use 3rd party processors how much do you process each month in sales $$$?

If you have the volume why wouldn't you get your own direct merchant account? I understand this does not mean your account couldn't possibly go away (Cardservice and FDMS last year) but at least you have more direct contact with the processing company who controls your world.

I work in the transaction processing business and work really like to hear what you think about your own account vs. 3rd party.

Steve

HMS - True, it´d be better, but it aint exactly easy finding one...specially if you´re not processing enourmous volumes...and then, some of the "merch solutions"-like suspect setups also seem just as shaky as 3td party....

TRUE - and even the acquires who are established can whack off an entire industry segment at the drop of a hat. Exactly what happened with the Card Service International situation last year. When CSI announced the closure of their adult portfolio I was overwhelmed with merchants looking for a solution. We more than trippled our adult portfolio in less than 60 days. We increased our adult processing dollars so quickly and to such a large amount that Visa stepped in and stop us from taking any more. They stated that we "exceeded the maximum allowable ratio of adult to non-adult transactions" Although from a different perspective, we at the bank get just as frustrated with the ever changing regulations by V/MC.

Not to turn this into a sales thread, but as our non adult portfolio grows and lowers the "ratio" Visa is measuring us by, we are looking to bring on more adult processing dollars in March or April. Again with the changing requirements by V/MC we have had to limit the account types that we can board during the period Visa allows us to. If anyone out there meets the following email me and I will add you to an email list I have going to notify folks when these accounts are available.

-2 years in business
-$100K in processing or more now (direct account, 3rd party, or combination of)
-ChargeBacks under 1%

WE WANT TO GROW OUR ADULT PROCESSING PORTFOLIO and as soon as Visa allows us to we most certainly will.
