I have a Dell Latitude CPi, an older model (PII 266, 64mb ram, cd rom etc), it's good, except that it gets VERY hot after a while, expecially when the cd is working alot..
I think that these new models kick ass and don't get so hot, check them out..

I would buy an HP or Sony...

I was looking last night on the Sony website -- they have a little 1" laptop for $999... great price... and they have some kind of promotion where you get a free Aircard and a month of free wireless service from Go.America if you sign a contract -- looks like $60/month for unlimited wireless but I'm not sure what the speed is like. I have a feeling it's slow as balls. Does anyone use this???

The screen is only 800x600 but I think I could live with that... especially if it had a video-out port...

Although GFY scrolls off the screen at 800x600 WTF!?

486sx I just use it for field work though.
Had a 386sx until the floppy went out.
Works great for what I use it for, a Dos program. It's a burner compaired to the 386sx.

After doing tons of research, I went and bought a IBM Thinkpad A20p with the titanium casing. The screen is huge and great for developing. Never had a problem with it.

To many features and cool stuff to list. Check out the "A series" from ibm.
