Don't let the low post count fool anyone. Vicki has been around this industry a LONG time and has a good reputation.

That doesn't mean that I'm endorsing this product in any way.

4% processing for adult for the "little guy" only happens when you mis-code a merchant account, and then when visa + mc finds out, welcome to the blacklist.

I think what you are confusing is third party processing and merchant account processing. Although in the end the principal is the same (getting to accept cc & checks online) they have marked differences in character.

A third party processor such as ccbill, epoch etc MUST charge higher rates because in essence they are covering your hides under their merchant accounts amongst other things. Its a high risk for them and it's evident in their rates.

With a merchant account, the vendor applies to a merchant bank for an account (we are only the delivery vehicle). In this case they are called MOTO's (mail order, telephone order - that includes internet) and because the vendor signs an agreement directly with the banking institute they in essence cut out the middleman. The vendor has much more control over his own funds and saves money by cutting out the middleman. The funds are also deposited directly into the vendors bank account.

The rates offered by the banking institute have nothing to do with us as a gateway except for the fact that we've established a solid relationship with them to help acquire vendors. The better our standing with banking institutes, the more banks wanting to do business with us.
Basically .. the more vendors the bank has, the more money they make. And they like working with companies that have solid financial and business reputations when trying to obtain them.

There are a couple of other merchant account processors that deal in adult and if familiar with them you would see their rates are comperable to ours .. the difference is that we choose to give a full pricing package and full cost disclosure (for both merchant account AND use of our gateway) up front rather than trying to slide hidden costs in on you like some others do.

There are no smoke and mirrors involved.
I can't honestly claim we bury our competitors with our prices but I can say we are DA*M competitive and do NOT hide any of the cost!

The high percentages you are thinking about are most certainly for 3rd party processing, not merchant account processing. Now if I told you our brick and mortar merchant rates it might throw you into a tailspin at how low those are so i'll refrain hehehe

And shame on you JSA, a simple sense of humor that is fitting of the board(s) i'm posting on lol ;)

HKS sounds kewl, my icq is 74296746

Greetings:

So what's exactly involved in the approval process if you apply?

Do you do a credit check?
Ask for certified copies of the company's financials?
Pull a D&B report?
Ask for a business plan?
Want to see bank statements?

Hi BoyAlley

The process is fairly simple but does take a bit of work .. luckily the savings make it very worth while ;)

A good portion of what is needed is listed on our signup form and covers this:
Corp/Business name, address, phone, email
Type of company (LLC, partnership, sole prop)
If partnership the percentage of ownership (50/50 requires both owners sig etc)
Personal info, name, address, phone, email, SSN etc
Monthly sales volume
Average transaction amount
Type of product (in most adult cases its recurring memberships)

Giving a couple of business references is always best .. even if its just a local grocer that you do biz with on a regular basis lol

We do not run a credit check but the bank can/does. It does not take stellar credit ratings but does take decent credit to be approved provided everything else is well and good.

certified copies - no, but if you have been processing in the past - giving 3-6 months of transaction history is HIGHLY recommended. They look to verify per transaction amounts, average monthly volume and of course charge back ratios.

D & B - no

Business plan - a short synopsis

Bank Statements - no, not really.

Of course there are signatures required, copies of ID etc. The initial signatures can be done via fax, however the hard copies must be received within a reasonable timeframe.

Its all pretty standard stuff - the same as getting any type of processing.
The time to get approved is approx 1-3 business days and to get fully setup and running is about 1-2 weeks depending on particulars.

I hope this helps?

Vicki -

Who are you placng your accounts through? I know there are less and less banks willing to underwrite these accounts. At times I am able to bring on accounts directly as well (Humboldt Merchant Services) but yet another VISA Regulation has me dead in the water at the moment.

Visa only allows 10% of a banks processing portfolio to be in adult transactions and we are currently in excess of our maximum allowable volume and getting fined by Visa. As out non adult portfolio grows I will again be able to bring on more adult. If you have somewhere to place accounts now I may jave a few to refer to you. Email me details and let me kow.

And guys.... 4.00% is not out of the questions. 2004 HMS was at 4.00% (2.40% + 1.60% NON QUALIFIED SURCHARGE BY VISA). Only difference is HMS will require you to pay the Visa/MasterCard fees.

In march or april HMS should again be able to bring on more adult volume, but our rate is set at 4.60% in 2005. Anyone interested in getting on my waiting list for your own account, let me know.

You should still be more careful, not everyone knows you so coming on here looking for new customers and saying 'screw visa' could be easily taken the wrong way.

Hi Steve
You should be receiving an email from me anytime .. sorry it took me so long to respond but as you can imagine its been a crazzzyy, busy day!! Announcing a deal like this comes with loooong hours lol

JSA
You are absolutely correct, I sometimes forget some of the folks here don't know me. lol

For those of you that don't know me .. here's a disclaimer and an introduction all wrapped in one.
I'm an old fart female with roots in adult and wings in mainstream & processing
I have a wicked sense of humor unless what you say isn't at all funny *nudge nudge*
but I'm all business when it comes to .. well you guessed it, business! :D

so tell me a joke and lets do BIZ!!

Sure, you can cross sell to yourself if you like as long as everything you sell is within the approved category of what you got the merchant account in.

A merchant account is different from 3rd party processing.
You have a direct contract with the merchant bank, we do not get involved .. we only help you obtain the merc acct then we act as your processing gateway. We don't police you at all .. however .. if your chargebacks get high the merchant bank can close your account, so its up to you to work at keeping them down.

I hope that made sense, let me know if you have anymore questions
