Wow. It never ceases to amaze me how much people from other countries hate our guts. It must be that evil genius George W's fault. Oh, wait a minute, he's not an evil genius, he's a stupid cowboy. Oh well, whatever. When you guys figure it out I'm sure that you're countries will let us know.
Maybe the United Nations could just get back the BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars that the Europeans and Sadaam Hussein extorted from the Oil for Food program? It's just sitting in a Swiss bank collecting dust right now. Then the problem would be solved. Although I guess we would still have to have that fleet of ships off the coastline with helicopters flying 24 hours a day delivering aid to make the money mean anything. But we're probably just using this to extend our military might! Damn, we're such rotten assholes. Why do we keep torturing the world like this? It must just be for the amusement of Haliburton and Dick Cheney. All I can say is....you better be glad that I'm not in charge. The Mid-East would be a radioactive zone and we'd have the oil companies in radioactive protective suits in there taking ALL the fucking oil so I can drive my Hummer! :1orglaugh And all the Europeans who hate us? I got nothin' but love for ya! Sure, you're a rude bunch with no manners. And you DO tend to listen to your governments' party lines a little too much. But then again, I guess you have to since they are socialistic and control every facet of your existence. You probably don't mind it too much. As long as they let you have JUST ENOUGH capitalism to peddle porn with the rest of us and make YOU more money than the poor clowns around you. If you ever get tired of giving all your money away, come on over to the good old U.S.A. We got a big ass country over here full of hot looking women who know how to shave their legs and underarms. Plus all the chicks here REALLY dig guys with foreign accents!!!! Just think about it...you'd get to actually keep most of the money that you earn...and you'd get to fuck a bunch of blonde haired big tittied bitches!! So stop hating us! Come on over and let's get drunk! |

Australia will provide Indonesia with a further A$1 billion ($765 million) in grants and concessionary loans over five years to rebuild areas devastated by the Dec. 26 earthquake and resulting tsunami, Prime Minister John Howard said. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...efer=australia LOANS AND GRANTS OVER 5 YEARS. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh Remember: A dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. |

well, i wonder who will be the first to pass the billion dollar barrier

grants are essentially giving the money so that's redudant as well, and some of the loans are up to forty years interest free (which once inflation takes it's toll is pretty much giving it away as well). |

How do you reconcile the 'international effort' that allowed > 800K to die in Africa with the international effort of those ravaged by a 10 meter wave? |

Yet another thread sprinkled with utter contempt, hate and vitriolic bullshit from "superior" races - allegedly.

It may be that it takes a constant barrage of images on TV screens to let the 2 second retention span work. Tho I'm sure there is a lot more to it than just that. Africa has been abused, and is still being abused by almost all "western" countries. It's people are the "non people" - the one's who don't matter. Amidst this shit, there are a number of countries and organizations helping, but nowhere near enough. Others just promise, have photo opportunities and do nothing and more just make stupid comments about "shit countries". Sad shit.. very sad!!! |
Thanks ColBigBalls. I guess I'm just paranoid. Seeing all those posts that accused the United States of being cheap and then using this tragedy to benefit ourselves just had me worried. Made me think everybody hated us for some reason. But you're right...the word "hate" was never used. So I guess if I beat the shit out of somebody but I never tell 'em that I "hate" them then it's all good! LOL! :1orglaugh
I'm just fuckin' with ya. In my opinion, people of good will from everywhere in the world are gonna help the victims of the tsunami. And yes, there are gonna be a ton of con artists over there milking that money as hard as they can. I was just fucking with everybody on this post because it got so damn political. But if any of the people on here who badmouthed the United States would like to know how we really feel...our hearts' are in the right place. Always have been. Always will be. And we all SHOULD have done something in Rwanda a long time ago to stop the genocide. And WE ARE doing something about AIDS in Africa. And yes, they are using my tax dollars to do it. But that's ok. I don't want to see anybody suffer or die. And if we can help we usually do. |

I think I better back out of this thread.... not much to say :-)

Funny how everybody say "yeah but we in the US give yada yada yada", if it wasn't for us "yada yada yada"
USA gave a amazing 1,19 dollar per person in USA. Example Norway is giving 39,50 dollar per person living in Norway wich make Norway the biggest donater per person. And no I'm not from norway. For the records, it is not only USA personal that is present, there is other countries too providing help as well :winkwink: |

This may be the first time we've ever agreed on anything... I hope there are many more times. I'm not at all trying to dimish that scope of the recent disaster. I'm just hoping people will think a little more... in general. |
Due:
I never noticed one webmaster yet from the highest giving nations come on to GFY and utter garbage like "if it wasn't for us yada yada yada". Like most countries, it looks like they have more class and don't discuss their contribution - nevermind boast about it :-) |

Fuck all the dick waving about donations though. If you want to take it to the Nth degree Blair just announced the UKs funding for help is 'unlimited'. But fuck it means nothing other than a HUGE chunk of the world are helping. After all the recent shit and peoples eagerness to kill each other it restores just a little faith in humanity. Even countries that usually keep out of this sort of thing are helping which is far more important than the amounts. On the Africa subject though I have to agree. There's shit there happening every year that makes the tsunami almost look small. A shame nobody gives a fuck about them. Half the governments there also make Saddam look like the Pope, but then they don't have huge oil reserves ;) |
Wow, good news :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Why can't we just agree that there is an immense and never before seen effort from most (!) countries to help the victims of this disaster, let it be the US, EU, Canada, Australia or whatever country. There might be a variety of reasons for this but the starving people in Aceh certainly don't care who is saving their lives, as long as the aid comes.
What worries me a lot more is what's going to happen with these huge amounts of moneys that have been promised to be given over the coming years. In a notoriously corrupt country like Indonesia and given the special situation in Aceh where the Indonesian army fights against an independence movement you can bet that large amounts of this money will end up in the pockets of government people and corrupt local bureaucrats. It's a sad situation - Indonesia is a fascinating country with fantastic people, but only as long as you don't dress them in uniforms... |

California donated more than that! |
that was really nice of them to do.
