LOL. 90% of college grads couldn't light a lightbulb with a battery & wire.

Some TV show I was watching called "Minds of Our Own".

They interviewed a bunch college graduates, and asked them if they could light a lightbulb using a battery & 1 wire.

50% said yes, 50% said no.

But when they handed them the actual battery, wire & lightbulb, almost all of them were unable to do it.

USA is so fucked

We did this in elementary school. And also did it later at summer camp.

Seeing college graduates unable to do this, makes me think future generations in the US are really fucked. They take fluff majors like marketing and art history, build an economy on worthless bullshit like Evian water, use the latest tech toys, but they would be helpless in a real emergency / red dawn / peak oil world.

So, they go through (like "journalists" do) and interview let's say 500 people. They then choose the 100 that they think best sells advertising to the people who watch their show.

Been to Broadcast school, I know how it works. Try again sammy. Or grow a mind of your own, preferrably one not itching insanely with jealousy over the enigmatic American genius that the rest of the world consistently underestimates.

By the way ULVideo, yes just one wire. You ground the threads to the negative post directly, and feed the positive to the end of the bulb using the wire. Or the other way around. Or the inverse would probably also work. That's at least 3 ways to do it.

In an armageddon / red dawn / peak oil type scenario, some basic skills should be known by everyone. Like getting an electical device hooked up, or changing a flat tire, or knowing how to swim.

People play with their xboxes and PDAs, but they haven't the faintest idea of how anything really works.

You can do it with 1 wire but the bulb has to be 'attached' to the battery.

You can ground the neg battery and lightbulb, then attach the wire from the pos terminal to the lightbulb. You don't need to touch the lightbulb to the battery.

You didn't specify that an appropriate non-wire ground would be available. Therefore, you have no argument. I just assumed you meant to try it in a rubber room like the one you're in.

I'm sure there is a direct correlation between college grads and if they can connect a fucking light bulb. I don't know about any other college grads here, but I didn't take any classes in college about electricity. Now, I do know this by common sense - there is a power and a ground. I don't think that means college grads are idiots.

What if I asked you how enterprise resource programs integrate to relational databases through application servers?

I would bet 90% of the POPULATION couldn't do it.

All ya are fucken idiots...

Only complete tards would think that lighting a bulb with a fucken wire is a necessity and then gauge the act or non act of lighting it as a factor of an entire civilizations intelligence...

Personally I wouldnt bother trying to light the bulb.
Light draws attention and is your worse enemy in "Military" or Para military situation.

I can take that same equipment and kill everyone in standing within a small room with a light bulb some wire and a battery.

Why use perfectly good materials for a luxury when it can be a weapon.

Dumb fuckers.
