I don't pretend to have a clue about valuating such a site... but my guess is an even Mil. He certainly didn't have to sell, so a premium would have to be paid for such an established cash cow which was referred to as "his baby".

I would say 200-300k... max.

Come on, you can build for 10 millions uniques/day of TGP/MGP traffic for that price, I would not pay only for a name.

The reason why they bought it is because Zilla converts babe/big tits pic traffic well.

Zilla is not Worldsex. For $1000 you had top spots for the whole month. Text TGPs might convert better, but I give them maximum 2 more years to live.

JJJ, as somebody who has been in the game for so long, how do you assess the value of a TGP like your own or Thumbzilla?

There are many in here saying others "don't have a clue" because of the prices they think Thumbzilla sold for. How did you come up with a million for your site? If it's purely based on traffic, would Thumbzilla then have reasonably sold for $1.5 - $2 million in your opinion? Are the values like $200-$500k low in your opinion? If so, why?

There was a time when JJJ's was doing over 700k daily. Would the asking price have more at that time?

mike33, I think the value of a site is based on the monthly earnings. Based on yearly gross times 3, a million is too low for my site, but that is what would make it worth it for me to give it up. Also more traffic doesnt always equal out to more money. Zilla's site was designed to make money, and that is the way I run my site, to make money. Alot of sites are too clean, and dont have enough ads so they make lesser amounts.

So over a year each surfer is worth about a buck? He has to be closer to 50k a month in income I would think.

GTS will post the numbers or new income so we get to see in a few days.

Shemp and JJJ know what they are talking about. We have bigbreastlovers. It was set up to make money and I can just about guarantee it makes more than the majority of the Sextracker top 100. Not only does it make more money it has a following that is loyal beyond belief. BigBreastLovers only gets 100k uniques a day but it is easily worth $600,000 to $1,000,000.

One of the problems is that most tgp owners concentrate only on traffic. Usually traffic from link trades. By doing that you have a site that depends on your link trades. The key is to build up bookmarks and not be afraid to advertise on the site. If a site is so dependant on link trades that it can't advertise then it really isn't worth much and is looking for trouble in the future. I could go on all day about the topic

Well, isn't what the advertisers are looking for anyway? I wouldn't buy spots on a TGP that doesn't convert. Quality traffic has always been the key, not the amount of traffic.

Now, how do you evaluate the quality of traffic? It takes some research, the traffic isn't the same with every niche available. You have to know which one.

Though I'm sure Shap will get his money back pretty quick. I did advertise 2 years ago on picwarehouse/sexape until he asked me to stop promoting some sponsors and closed the TOP thumb spots. (before twistyscash)

Now I look, and he closed all advertisers spots... it seems most links are hosted galleries or twistys. The advertising link is still up though.

His traffic quality is very good.

I wonder if surfers had an idea of the thumb TGPs. If it was the case, Madthumbs would not have 1.5 millions of hits daily overnight within a few months. Surfers see what's common, stuff that is part of a big network.

I was one of the first to advertise on the Hun, Worldsex at the time the 1st spot was available within a week. I invested $1000's in paid listings when people had no idea it existed... so if there was a network of thumb TGP with good traffic, I would have seen it long ago.

Yeah Hosted galleries exist since 2-3 years, but it turned popular only a few months ago.

Otherwise give me one single network of Thumb TGPs that existed in 2000 and I will epassporte you $50 right away.

Yeah it's a half text/thumb kind-of TGP. Sleazy is the story man and built his traffic with an original concept and product for surfers. But this is not really what I'm talking about.

Show me a network of thumb sites from back in 2000 such as madthumbs, teeniefiles, teeniesxxx, etc. Otherwise I can say you the TGPs existed as soon as the freesites like the green guy and persiankitty appeared on the net since it's basically the same thing. But it's not.

Most of Sleazydream's traffic is bookmark and he trades hardcore links with old and solid text TGPs. He's not what I call a "new generation" of network TGP that might eliminate the current text TGP model in the next 2-3 years.

5 years ago there was not a single solid network of thumb TGPs.

Let make this more clear: In 2-3 years, the Thumb TGP model will become the major thing in the free porn industry, eliminating any chance for a Text TGP to succeed except if it's an old sites like persiankitty, link-o-rama, etc.

But my point is I would prefer owning Madthumbs.com (that is pretty new) over Link-o-rama.com (that is pretty old) with all the new surfers that will start using Internet and broadband connections. I can say the same thing with MGPs over TGPs.

Oh and with all the respect I have for Sleazy, I would love to see him start from absolutely zero in this industry.

This is good also for other TGP "dinosaurs" such as JJJ, Snakesworld, Pinkworld, Adult-Buffet, etc.

Sometime I think most of their success is based on timing... because otherwise I'm not sure they would succeed as much in this industry starting from scratch with zero dollars and no business contacts.

That's why I believe a guy such as xAsper deserve more respect than others. He knows how to innovate, design, trade, sell, etc... he's just smart.

Sleazydream can barely tie his shoes without having a heart attack, how is he gonna survive by starting over?

Oh I'm sure anyone can buy the Comus Thumb script, and probably most of them already have a few Thumb TGPs.

Call-Kelly did switch from a successfull Text TGP to Thumb TGP... but I know his traffic quality dropped. (Don't know for now since It's been a long time I advertised there)

My point is not that a guy running a Thumb TGP is smarter, because anyone can buy Comus + hire an trading expert and have a Thumb TGP overnight.

But programming a script like MadTGP (that was the first solid thumb script way before Comus), and building a site to 2 millions hits per day in one year or so is very nice.

I'm pretty sure he's currently making a lot more money than Shemp.com - Except if you do more than 35-40k per month.

madthumbs make for sure more, he sells 36 gallery spots each month:
36 x 1500 = $52 500
I think he rotates 12 banners(I could be wrong) at the top, thats 12 x $2000 = $24 000

= $76 500(in the case, he is sold out) + paysite links and banners with his ref codes he dont sell as I dont see them in GTS
