Everytime a poll comes out there is always lots of cities that are in one and not another like a recent one had Melbourne #1 and no Swiss city in the top 10, but always, you will see Vancouver make the top 10 for the past several years in every poll.

San diego always hit high in the US things like this but I love Miami. Definately thinking of making a move. Your top ten just needs more sun. And NewYork City is the center of the world. Pretty hard to not make it top ten.

Vancouver - #1 City in the Americas

The reader?s of Condé Nast are among the savviest travellers on the globe. Their opinions are formed from years of experience travelling to cities around the world, from Albuquerque to Zurich. So that makes their decision to name Vancouver the best city in the Americas all the more satisfying. Editors of the seminal travel magazine tabulated its readers 30,000 votes, and Vancouver beat out rivals like Mexico City, Toronto and San Jose, Costa Rico.

Judging from its grand location on the sparkling shores of the Pacific, in the shadows of the lording Coast Mountains, there is little doubt why they voted for Vancouver. Clean, safe streets, friendly people and a wonderful collection of accommodation options all make for an unrivalled vacation destination. But don?t take their word for it; discover for yourself why Vancouver is the best city in the America?s!

i still havent heard any comment about the service we offer ... would you use a service for $10k to get living and working permission in Switzerland?
(Mainly to save taxes) Those people we moved in here, are happy ...

but you have to know that its quite impossible to move people to Switzerland who cant afford to pay for their own living.
Switzerland = Money. So you have to have some income to be able to get permission.

Vancouver must be a lovely place! I remember it was on place 2 world-wide about 2 or 3 years ago, just behind Zurich and in front of Geneva. Chris, a fiend of mine visited the city and told me it was amazing !!!

I have visited probably 25 countries, lived in San Fran. and NY right before moving here, and feel like this city is definately tops if you play it right. You have to live downtown as although it is a medium sized city with a large downtown, downtown here is very livable clean, green (largest urban widerness park in the world) and perfectly safe and thriving at nights. I live across the street from the ocean/beach/seawall path that streches for tens of kilometers along the ocean/forest, and yet I am still right downtown and can walk across the street and swim in the ocean at the beach during summer. You can ski 15 minutes from downtown and golf in the same day.

Nothing beats New York. Nothing. It just doesn't. Clean air is nice and all but I'm not exactly choking every day when I wake up. The other cities are scenic and all that stuff but after you get finished strolling through the friggin park what do you do then huh?

I imagine after I pop out a couple of kids and loose my lust for chasing hot women NYC might not be my number one. Who knows, I might slow down so much that a cabin in the Swiss Alps would be more suitable for me. There's a slim chance of that, but it's possible I guess.

In the meantime, any self respecting, pussy loving, big money making red blooded male under 50 has to consider New York number one followed closely by Miami. Anything after that is gravy on top of the potatoes.

Interesting. Would everyone from the US (on this board) say that NYC is the best place to live in the US?

I thought LA or SANFR are cool places

I'm definitely on the slow train to Vancouver. I should be getting there by June. I heard here are massive amounts of exotic women there.

Still, nothing beats NY for having the best of everything at your fingertips (except clean air) 24/7 365.

I should have gone with my instinct and bought property last year in Argentina when their currency got seriously devalued and the economy pounded. Damn, it has rebounded already. I am reading lots of good things lately about Uruguay and their beach resort Punta del Este.
