ibill? ccbill?

Me and my buddy were talking today about cc processors. We were seriously wondering why anybody would use CCbill or Ibill.

Their stats are down ever other day. They scrub cards like hell. Their webmaster and affiliate pages are pathetic, like they were made 10 years ago on a c64. Their customer service is terrible...uhm i mean TERRIBLE.
(except for Kimmy)

The only conlusion we could come up with is that people use them because they are big...
Is this true?
Tell me why you use them for your paysite.

Who else you gonna use? Epoch? LOL Globill? Sure, they are good, but are they gonna be in business in 6 months.

Or maybe do your own processing, but then you might want to look up VIP-ID.com and what happened to them.

I heard bad stories about Epoch.
Personally i use Globill for almost a year now and never had a single problem with them.

So people use them because they are afraid to use the smaller companies?

Of course. I'm not worried about ccbill or ibill going out of business.

Epoch should not even be a consideration.... not even as a passing thought. Been down that road... and I got ass raped by a tribe of ass-rapers... or something.

Battuss uses them as a processor for his paysite... and I think you already use NSCash, right? I'm not sure what else is out there.

Because iBill has paid me on time every time like clockwork without a single problem for almost 4 years.

Cant say the same for Epoch, Sypro, DMR, and any number of other jackoff processors that has gone out of business or owes alot of money to alot of people.

Why work your ass of for a year and then watch all your recurrings go down the shitter because your processor dies?

And like Gary said (never thought I would ever say that) go with someone you know will be around in 6 months.

And that they have problems almost everyday is nothing to worry about?

been dealing with Ibill since late 1997 - never once had a problem with being paid, or hold backs.

But these past couple of days have sucked. My cust serv can't access cmi, though it appears (and ibill is trying to assure us) that all first time's are being processed normally.

they problems they've been having are almost exclusively related to the cmi, except for short outages. I hope it stays that way...

Chargebacks. That's why.

You'd be dropped from your bank like a bad habit, within 2 months. Since you won't be doing any sort of volume, the bank won't like taking on that sort of risk.

iBill and ccbill I would assume have strong relationships with some banks, so they are not in danger of being dropped. Their volume is enough for banks to justify the added risk, and they probably charge more for that fact. I'm sure ibills and ccbills chargebacks are over industry standard (something like 1%+ is considered a red flag usually), although I could be mistaken. I'm sure they take a lot of precautionary steps to ensure chargebacks won't become a huge problem.

If you're thinking about doing your own processing on a porn site.. all I can say is good luck, you'll need it.

That said, I don't understand why some small companies use processors like ccbill & ibill.. they get anally raped by the percentage fees, and could do much better with a minor investment with a "real" processor for normal card transactions.

Ah well, should I ever do a porn site, ibill and ccbill is where I shall turn to.

-Phil

Like he said, its largely CMI... who cares so long as signups are being counted. My customer service gets the day off so its all good. My signups have been fine, and rebills are slowly catching up. I dont really see the issue here. Its iBill, they ALWAYS come through. Have for me anyhow.

And I cant believe someone said their support sucks, thats just crazy talk.

Self processing??? Ha... better have at least 10 large to invest in getting it set up... and then there's no guarantee you're gonna last more than a few weeks at your bank. Which will only cost you more money and down time, and ultimately you'll end up trying to sell the gear on eBay with the rest of them and begging CC Bill or someone to accept you.

Hmm, I've seen just the opposite with CCBill. I was working for a paysite owner and e-mailed support about some tech issues. Never heard back from them. E-mailed again. Still no response. Finally gave up and went elsewhere for help.

Two months later the stats were completely fucked in the webmaster area, reporting 0 sales for the whole week. I knew e-mailing them wouldn't work so I called the 1-800 number. The support guy basically lied to me and said they were fixing the stats as we spoke. The next day the stats were still fucked. I call again, get a different support guy, and get a different excuse for why the stats aren't working.

Needless to say, I didn't like CCBill much after that.
