curious - not into fancy or imported shit - just a nice comfy all leather couch. What's a reasonable or good price to pay for one that's available on the market?

you should check out those microfiber couches... most places will let you use that material when you order a couch, feels just like suede but you can wash it w/ soap and water and it doesnt leave wet marks.

for a decent sized comfy couch i'd say about 1500-1800

I don't think that material is much more (if any more) to substitute.

i feel good then - i was at a discontinued discount store today - and bought a leather sofa, loveseat and chair all for about $600 each. I thought it was a TOTAL steal - real nice couches, deep seats and comfy for a BIG guy like me - comparable to my $2200 leather couch but only $600. I was stoked!
