It can take a long time for things like that but the ONLY way you'll do it is if you MOVE ON... force yourself.. just change your routine, go to the theatre, try new food, go kayak or something..... make new memories that make you happy on your own and that don't remind you of things you can easily dwell on.

Don't let someone else control your mind.. cuz that's whats happening when you get all sad and in a rut... just say

*snap NEXT!

here is my stupid theory on this, i believe u will never get over it. but u build new relationships and eventually the old relationship loses its meaning and the new one takes hold. its kinda the same as when your pet dies, u dont get over it, but u eventually decide u are ready to get a new dog.

I went about 7 months, saw her tonight for the first time since our breakup 7 months ago. Felt good though. Settled a bunch of things that went unspoken and going to give it all another try slowly hopefully this doesn't turn out worse than before.

I get heartbroken way too easily and unfortunately it usually puts me in a slump emotionally. On the plus side, when I'm in this state, I usually do very well on the business side of things. It would be great to find a balance in between.

The only thing I havn't gotten over is the fact that my ex has changed me into a miserable person. Before her I was on top of the world, stand up comedian, loved to make people laugh. Still do but I find it much much harder. Havn't been myself going on roughly a year.

You NEVER REALLY get over a true love/loss.Although time does soften the blow thoughts of a true love lost will last a lifetime imo.More so if you have children together.
Find/Appreciate what you have...strive for more than you have in the present...and find someone who you would like...and the person who would like to share in your search.Most importantly...find you BEST FRIEND!

The only broken heart I have ever suffered lasted about 5 or 6 months, and now we're good friends that can talk about anything. It just takes a while sometimes. I just feel fortunate that I've only suffered one, and the breakup was mutual, we just didn't need to be together. Good Luck, keep your head up and your self confidence will rise with it.
