so here's the story so far: wash potato - cut our eyes - punch fork into potato several times - 18 minutes oh high in microwave - wrapped in handi-wrap - mash that mother fucker up with a fork - add butter - sour cream - mild shredded cheddar cheese - hormel real bacon bits - lots of salt - game on bitch! |

I wrap mine in a paper towel. If it's a big potato, put it in initially for 10 minutes, then rotate it 1/4 turn and give another 3-5 minutes depending on size. After microwave goes off, leave it in there another 5-10 minutes and let it finish cooking itself.

Did you know that cooking items in any sort of plastic in the microwave increases your chances of cancer?

You're supposed to wrap it in a WET paper towel, that way it absorbs the moisture as it cooks , speeds up the whole process

A damp paper towel wrapped around it and about 9 minutes for big ones, 7.5 for smaller ones in my microwave is how I do it.
Depends on your wattage as to how long it takes... |

wrapping it on tin foil probably wouldnt do anything if it was on some sort of a plate or bowl only when its setting directly on the bottom of the microwave will it arch

rub it with some oil, lightly salt the skin, ONE poke, and zap it. If you put it in a 400 degree oven for 5 mins, it will taste more like a baked spud, not amicrowaved one.
