** Win a PLAYERS BALL pass here ** Easy to win, best story about the Ball wins

OK, as a part of kicking in the Players Ball promotions in full effect, here's an easy way for you to win a VIP pass to the Players Ball.

1 month away from the Ball, so I'm in a giving mood with passes.

Post your best Players Ball memory in this thread, the winner wins a Players Ball pass.

If you've never been to a Players Ball, write something about why we should give you the pass.

We can determine the winner at any given time. If the first post is that good, I'll declare the winner right away. As soon as I see a winning post, I could announce it. Or I can just wait for a few great posts first.

If you'd like to be a sponsor still, it's not too late, only a few packages are left since we're almost out of passes.

So let's here your favorite Players Ball moment.

Thanks to all fo the current sponsors for the support.

Pressure is good. Keeps me in check.

So far the best party ever had the support of Cyber Age, Snoop Dogg 2001.

Huge thanks again for that!

Watching you rap at the Players Ball was one of my personal favorite moments too.

It showed that we're more then a bunch of internet geeks, some of us can actually rap.

I like the idea of the party showcasing the webmasters, so it was a highlight for that reason too.

My best memory is from last Ball when I had to mind the 2 girls Catalyst brought along and I had try keeping them from running off (with a random guy) just before they jumped on stage giving a very nice rubby touch lesbi show on stage turning the house upside down

Yes this year, 2004, January. Peachez18 and another girl which mysteriously dissapeared after show. Guess I didn't do my job right.

Come to think of it: I didn't spot you after that either...is there a link?

Now gimme that pass, I got fired because of you!

I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to Vegas this year, but here's a Player's Ball story...

2000 New Orleans I believe it was, my friend Drake flew out with me. Drake had done some work with my partner's company but hadn't experienced anything "industry related" until this convention. We fly in, check in, and head straight to the Player's Ball.

Going in to the venue, the lobby was full of people dressed to the 9's in their fly outfits. I myself had sewn up a funky green outfit which I was praying would hold together. After checking out the talent from the main floor, we meet D-Money, who was cool enough to supply us with a couple VIP's.

We head upstairs to the VIP area to check out the pimpin' action. As we're walking through a crowd of dressed up dancin' maniacs, I noticed Drake is being blocked by a woman on the dance floor. Drake had a look of shock on his face as the woman proceeds to get down on her knees and whip out his whangus for a bit of dirty dancing with her mouth. A few flashes went off as the voyeurs in the immediate area commited the act to eternity on film, as I laughed my ass off at Drake's fortune. Barely an hour into his first adult convention and he's getting blown in front of a crowd.

Needless to say, it was a Player's Ball to remember.

I would say my best memories of the player's ball go back to IA2000 (for those old timers of us before it became InterNext) circa 1998. I was in the biz maybe 7 or 8 months at the time, and things had really started getting good --- so of course the natural progress was to hit the show and see what it was all about.

This year the convention was at the Monte Carlo, and had such an energy to it because so many people were new. Aside from that, the business of the adult internet was still quite new as well, and there wasn't a negative vibe in the house. It's funny to think back to that show - the convention floor was soooooo small compared to later years, and really in such an infancy.

The opening party was at the brew pub in the Monte Carlo, and the little schoolgirl chicks were floating around everywhere. Forgive me for not remembering which company sponsored these girls, but they were some damn good eye candy Andre from picpost was taking pics of all his buddies and getting them up on the web that night, which was pretty cool.

I believe the Player's Ball that year was in club Utopia, but I could have my parties mixed up But we did hit the Player's Ball that year, and afterwards my group and the AdultBuffet guys partied it up in the Houdini bar in the Monte Carlo until about 5am. Man oh man I was drunk until like 5pm the next day! lol Good times... good times...

I've been to the show a number of times after that year, but none of the experiences can live up to that one. Maybe it was because it was my 1st year in the biz, or maybe it was because money was rolling in like wildfire.... I don't know. But whatever it was, that was the best for me!

My memory is a great one. I was playing good touch bad touch with a couple of the models and apparently she didnt like that. She threw a drink in my face and security took me out the back door... It seems the cops new the bouncers so I was arrested and put in jail for 3 days, which sucks cause I missed my flight.. Anyways I know i would win the ticket but I'am not allowed within 1000 feet of the players ball, court order.

Awesome to read these stories.

It makes throwing them so much more worth while to hear what happens in the parts I can't see.

Keep them coming.

For the record, the very first Players Ball was the one in Vegas, IA2000 days, Club Utopia. We had Long Beach Dub All-Stars (former Sublime members playing).

Trey Parker was our big celeb partying until 8:00 am with us.

Thanks to Far-L and Homegrown for getting him to attend. That set the tone for all future Players Balls. After that, webmasters expected to see celebs at each one, and we've delivered a ton through the years.

My players ball experience.

I arrived in style with a hot chick i was doing stuff with since a few days (i met her through Dugmor who invited her to come visit new years eve with us in New Orleans)
After our first beer she said she was going to look around for 10 mins and asked me to wait at the bar.

After 2.5 hours of waiting i finally left the place...alone.

I went to the round bar in the Venetian. 15 mins later the girl found me there (by accident) and went totally nuts because i didnt wait for her. I told her 10 mins is not 2.5 hours and asked her what she did all that time. She couldnt answer it.

So we got into a drunken fight at the round bar with 20 webmasters looking how i was making a fool of myself.

I hope this year will be better.

Is that a true story?

Wow!

Well, maybe you can attend this one since we've changed venues since then.

Just bring your good touch and leave the bad touch at home.

Lot's of good ones so far. I'm gonna wait to pick a winner, I want to hear more!

I heard stories of shit going on like that, didn't actually see it though. Sounds like Drake was a big winner that night!

I am looking forward to my 1st playersball for all the above reasons... I think I should get the VIP tix so that I can get the FULL hardcore playersball experience the 1st time out. It will also help me to get out and get to know some of you freaks that I always read about on here but was too much of a newbie to appoach at access...

(I am also taking an cute young asian girl with me who is a natural 32D for eyecandy, if the above does not work)

I don't have any elaborate stories, but last year I had a great time. I really had no intention of going, but the night of the Ball I didn't have anything else planned and just happened to bump into one of the sponsors. He hooked me up with a couple VIP passes as long as I went. So my buddy and I started taking the trek up the strip to the Aladdin I think it was, no idea why we didn't get a cab or something. It was fucking cold.

Anyway, we finally get there and somehow get lost in the mall. Eventually found our way to the club where there was a pretty good sized line waiting to get in. Finally made our way in, found the VIP section and the rest of the night was a complete blur. Ha. All I remember is I had a great time even though I didn't think I would.

Definitely fun times.

Sounds great.

Been meaning to do a live show but have had a glitch with the audio, been so busy I couldn't find the time to fix it.

Once I get it ironed out, love to come by for a broadcast.

Players Ball is always a great time with great people. Its really great to end a week of partying and business and not sleeping with a night filled with truly crazy experiences and drinking. There is always time to sleep on the plane ride home. I thank you for putting them on each show, and I also thank my friends and sponsors who have always seen fit to provide me with passes.

We've had thousands and thousands of webmasters through the years.

At C2K we fit 4500 to 5000 in that venue, each year, 5 years in a row.

Our smallers parties have 2000 webmasters.

They're out there.

I wonder how many unique webmasters have attended since the beginning. I'd guess around 10,000 or so unique webmasters. Could be a lot more. People come and go through the years, could be as many as 20,000 including the "has beens".

It's great to hear stories like that. Lot's of people hear about the long lines from years ago and don't feel like attending, or they have some false belief about the party because they don't like the music. But when people actually attend and catch the show, they end up loving it. Can't please everyone all of the time, but we try our hardest.

The major kinks have been taken out of the years, so now these Players Balls are easy to get inside, move around and network, see a great performance and sponsors are getting more results directly from it.

I hope to see you this year.

easy...

a couple of years ago when I worked at videosecrets, my gf at the time was with me. we were talking to this lady from prague we had some webcams with and she had to go to the bathroom, I did too and offered to show her since it was her first time at c2k and kinda tricky to explain the whole elevator thing.. so when I get back my ex thinks I was off flirting or worse with her and when my head was turned talking to the lady from prauge I get socked in the jaw and spill my drink on like 5 people...

such good memories...

I have a bank of memories from various shows...
and although I am not able to win anything I feel this story is worthy of telling...

I get to the vaery first Players Ball with D arrive and am shuffled to our VIP area. I am with Andy Alvarez, FAR-L and Tom from Blue Gravity when I bump into matt and trey.

Trey asks me if I want a "bean" I had no idea what a "bean" was at this time...it was 1998-99 at Utopia and I was wearing a BIGGIE SMALLS pinstripe suit with a Godfather white brim-

I say to Trey " Sure give me one" It turns out later that it was a hit of Ecstacy that would later have me literally frying up.

I roll all night long- and the lead singer of Long Beach Dub Allstars would not go on stage- I go over to him and tell him he has to get on stage now or else we'll pull the plug and get our money refunded- he spits in my face and I lay him out with a punch to his jaw- he then gets up and kisses me on the cheek and goes on stage and starts playing-

Once the show started winding down Tom and I decide to walk across the busy street instead of waiting for a cab or limo.

We cross a major intersection- walk all the way to the Monte Carlo literally rolling our balls off- once in the casino I have to go all the way through it to the front desk - I lost my room key.

While walking what seemed to be an endless journey- I get to the front desk- get my room key as does Tommy because he lost his as well
when all of a sudden I am barraged by 50-100 people screaming for my autogragh. They all were convinced I was the lead singer of Big Bad VooDoo Daddy-

i start signing autograghs then tell Tom to meet me in 20 mins by the bank of elevators- I needed to take a quick shower and freshen up

We make our plans and we both go our seperate ways....
I come down to the lobby 20 mins later....NO TOM

hour goes by...NO TOM-

I leave for the afterparty with Trey and Matt and a dozen or so Players and simply write off Tommy as a no show.

The next day I see Tom at 4 pm in the afternoon and I say to him " What the hell happened to you last night"?

He then replies " Oh My FUCKING GOD, I went up to my room, put the key in the door, walk into my room and start throwing up everywhere. All over the walls, the floor and the Luis Vuitton luggage on the bed. I then pass out next to one of the suitcases and come to a half an hour later only to realize...I don't own Luis Vuitton luggage. I then got up and walked out of the room."

Apparently the key that the front desk made Tom was for the suite two floors below him and he got a wrong room key.

Now...
Can you imagine the look of horror and amazement when whoever was staying in that room came back from a long night of partying only to find some 19 year old bandwidth slinging computer kid's puke all over their room?

I love this story so much and I haven't gotten a chance to tell it in a long time...

It is definitely a true story and one that nobody could ever possibly make up.

As for Ecstacy, I didn't do another hit for years afterwards.
Now if you wanna know why south park is so wacked-

Imagine the fact that Matt and Trey ate 8 of those beans that night

OK, before I post the winner, here's some of my favorite stories from the D$ memory bank. Here's my top 10, not in any particular order, but close to it.

1) 2003 - Pimpin' with VH-1. They had their cameras filming the pre-party and the walk to the venue. Jenna on one arm and Brianna Banks on the other with a wall of Penthouse Pets behind me and an crew of about 200 people following me. I was hosting the show, VH-1 mic in my hand. Even if it never airs, it was one of the best memories for me.

2) 2001 - Not knowing whether Snoop was going to show up or not was pretty nerve racking. He came to the venue right before he was supposed to go on stage to perform, so I was nervous as hell thinking maybe he wasn't gonna show up. Even though we paid him a fortune and had contracts, still makes a guy nervous. Then, Jenna comes on stage with KB and gave me the good news that they were just backstage hanging with Snoop. That moment was one of the greatest memories. I huge relief!

3) 2000 - Walking Mike Tyson into the VIP, he was still a great fighter and he had a big fight in Europe a week after.

4) 2002 - Slick Rick and Doug E Fresh together for 15 minutes on stage.

5) 1999 - The after parties after the very first Players Ball. Trey Parker kicked it all night with us, we had 2 after party suites.

6) 2001 - Snoop Dogg loving his Big Woody Award and accepting it on stage during his performance with Don Magic Juan presenting it. I had an opportunity to thank him on stage as I shared a smoke break with him.

7) 2004 - This years Players Ball sponsors and hype. This has been the greatest year for the group of sponsors raised and the hype behind the Ball.

8) 2003 Florida - After the rain came down we switched to go inside to a small ballroom. The weather cleared up and we put 2 monster speakers on the balcony and had Too Short perform with DJ Evan infront of only 50 people sitting outside at tables, very loungy. Too Short did his classics to some DJ Premiere cuts. Very cool to see the party went on, even though most people counted us out, the show must go on!

9) 1999 Miami - Ice-T called me to the stage to issue the Big Woody's out. KB fucked up and was supposed to hand him a list of the winners, so when he had no list in his hand, I was called up to the stage to help present them. It was my first time on stage as an MC and Ice-T and I made a great team. Always a thrill to MC with one of raps greatest MC's of all time.

10) 1999 Miami - DJ Sasha flew from the UK just for our party. He asked to speak with me in the owners office before the party, he wanted to spin for free. I asked him if he was any good. Little did I know he was considered the worlds #1 DJ at that time.

D$ has heard this several times.....

I was brand new to the industry literally inside of 90 days and we went to go check the sceneout at ia2000 Miami.

This would be the show that launched the "Gold Rush" it was clear there was a ton of money to be made and there were legions of young hot shots wanting in on the action.....myself included.

After being on the floor for about two hours one thing became very clear....This Player's Ball was the event to attend....

So I briefed the crew and told them we were heading to the liquid lounge...when we arrived i did what ever i could to get up to the VIP so after asking the doorman if $500 would get me up the rope lifted and went upstairs to rub elbows with the group who would one day be my peers, my friends, and my closest business associates.

Once upstairs my appetite for success was hardly curbed. i went downstairs and decided to see if I could finesse my way tot he back stage area after a few confident attempts i see this D$ guy.....

So i tell him i wann tto go back and he says sure....i was floored.

the drinks were flowing and i was asked if i could give a shout out to the people in the balcony.......it was loud and D$ thought i had said i was with another company so a he said sure ......in fact why dont you announce ICE-T!!!!!

(D$ is such a stand up mo fo that he let what he thought was a sponsor have the honors of announcing the marquee talent)

So in my drunken state i stumble to the center stage and introduce myself and ICE-T....

D$ laughing asks who are you with again.....i tell him and he says Man i thought you said someone else!!!!!

We have had several good laughs about it over the years and it is to this day one of my fondest memories of working in this business

So there is my story the night i pirated my way to the elite VIP room and announced ICE-T without knowing a single person in the industry

I love that story. See, it was before I even wanted to be on stage. People think I'm a ham and I love being on stage, but the truth is, KB's the ham. I host it because I need to make sure sponsors are thanked and the flow of the night moves along. If you want to make sure things get done right, you have to step in there and do it yourself. I'm still working at being better on stage, the one thing I can say for sure is this, I don't get nervous at all up there. You'd think with everyone of your peers in the crowd and 5000 eyeballs on you, you'd be nervous. The truth is, I have so much shit to handle, my mind is so pre-occupied with the nights agenda, there's no time to be nervous, and that's the absolute truth.

So now when KB and I are up there, it's natural, it's really us, talking shit into the mics, not knowing what we're gonna say next. The only thing I know for sure is that the sponsors need to be thanked and Woody Award winners need to know we're about to announce the winners.

So having Jim up there to announce Ice-T was a no brainer. I didn't have to do it, and I gave the honors to what I that was "Pornholio". This is before Jim became, Jimholio.

I love that memories like that are shared with players that are still thriving in the game today. And to think that I provided a memory to a guy as cool as Jim makes me proud as well.
