dream theater fans beware..

I heard through the grapevine that dt is in the studio again. I'm as giddy as a school girl at the thought.

Images and Words is the album that introduced me to DT, best album IMO is still Scenes from a Memory, definitely a masterpiece

I agree on the masterpiece thing 100%

However I keep getting drawn to Falling Into Infinity as my favorite album. There's a certain feel to it that gets me groovin.

They did. Live at Budokan has most of the Train of Thought songs on it. You should check it out; the quality is much better than Scenes From New York.

DREAM THEATER!!!???? Listen to Fates Warning!
Hell listen to Watchtower. Listen To Rush!
The drummer's from these bands do not steal every lick from someone else. Portnoy should be neutered.

DT should get Bobby Jarzombek, or Rick Colaluca, or now that Mark Zonder's out of FW, get him

I saw them open for Queensryche and was blown away but I do not know much about their music. What are some of their best songs that I should download?

I'm not suprised, they're touring again so the album was inevitable.

That's a hard one to answer but personally I would get the following to start off:

Voices
overture 1928
In The Name of God
Trial Of Tears
Burning My Soul
Caught in A Web
As I Am
The Great Debate
Finally Free (wicked drumming at ending)
The Glass Prison

I was in a rented - makeshift studio under a hair salon in King's Park one time with some friends.

DT was working on the song "to live forever"

When Charlie was still in the band, and before the geoff tate clone thankfully they didn't keep.

Mike was having a hard time thinking of a pattern for the song.

He went up to the old Majesty Van, and came back with a copy of Big Generator by YES.

Played the song "Aim High Shoot Low" and copied it plain and simple. If you listen to the 2 songs... tell me he didn't steal the beat verbatim. That's not influenced, it's stolen, and very ghey. I lost all respect for him then.

Read any MD isuue with an interview of him, and you'll see that his "influences" appear too influenced to most drummers that hear him.

I am not saying that he's a bad drummer, he isn't I just think he should be more original, like the guys I listed above.
