The Browser Wars: Which one do you use?

I have been converted.

SpreadFirefox is an affiliate program to promote Firefox.

Before you get excited, because Mozilla (Firefox) is open source, you're not gonna get paid any money to push them, but you can get listings on their top lists and use your points to get some cool stuff from their online store.

Newbie to polls, are we?

You should have made it multi-choice.
I use Safari, Explorer, AOL, and FireFox (0.9 Best Version Ever!)

Gotta make my site look good to everyone.

Ya, I fucked up. I should have at least included Netscape.

I tried editing the post/poll, but to no avail.

Why do you prefer the old version of Firefox over the new one?

And on a side note;

I-Will-NOT-Promote-FireFox-Until-They:

A) Bring back Full Text Searching like it had in 0.9.
B) Make it Mac compatable.

Pardon my bluntness, but:
FIAR FAUKS 1.0 FUCKING SUCKS.

I do a lot of direct PHP editing on my server.

When dealing with 10,000 lines of code, I need to be able to search input text feilds. (area in which editing is done) 1.0 does NOT do that.

And all the bullshit about tabbed browsing might be new and exciting to all you PC users, but we (Mac users) have had tabbed browsing on Safari long before FireFox was even born. And the Full Text Searching[/b] feature was the only reason I used the Fox for as long as I did.

Telling me to "Rediscover the Web"...

Rediscover shit.

Actually, you can still continue using the ctrl+f, but you can now simply type what you want and the search box will appear automatically.

Let's see,

Delete key does not go to the last page.
Arrow keys don't do anything at all.
page up/page down keys do not work.
Various Invalid CSS problems such as:
A) Scrollbar shows up during the display of any content when it should be invisible.
B) No WYSIWYG support.

I just rendered FireFox OS X as unbearable.
I could keep on with the list, but what's the point?

To the Mac community, FireFox looks a bit like a joke. A joke with many merits, but still a joke. This starts with the fact that it didn?t manage to copy over any bookmarks from Safari or Camino and finds an early climax in its preferences sheet which sticks to one of the browser windows and can spawn (seemingly randomly) further dialog boxes or other sheets. Add to that the classically broken UI items like popup menus for font selection and so on and see me not impressed.

Is Firefox technically superior to Safari? From what I?ve heard it is. Mozilla says it is. Mozilla also thinks they're going to put microsoft out of business.

It sounds like you're used to doing what most people do with other programs. I can see why you would not be happy with Firefox in this case, but for the rest of us that use browsers for what they were primarilly intended for, they will love it.

Sorry about not including them in the poll, my bad.

Speaking of that though:

AOL has unveiled a prototype of its revived Netscape Browser, which serves as a test bed for several new features. The new Netscape is based on Firefox, but with a twist - it includes support for switching to Microsoft's IE engine.

Article

I guess they could call it AmericaFirescape Explorer?

And as far as Microsoft goes;

They're just waiting for Mozilla to do all the beta testing for them before they release something that will completely smoke FireFox.

Firefox is actually tied with IE right now. I am surprised. I didn't know the fire was spreading this quickly.

I'm sure that not having a number of the many small browsers and Netscape in the poll is a factor, but still, that is amazing.

Maybe if you ask a mod politely, they'll add Netscape and Safari to the poll.

For just arriving to the board and industry tonight, you sure have showed that you're no stranger here. It was mainly the board search you did a few posts ago that really gave you away.

Unfortunately I am not 't3h l33t webmaster' and am using I.E... people complaining of spyware and malware shouldnt be using I.E if they don't understand that downloading malware.exe from warez.com will fuck up their browser.

The kicker about FireFox is the extentions. Screw the themes, they're just a waste of time. Extentions the #1 thing they have going for them.

If you go on to their forums and complain enough about what FireFox is missing, someone will eventually make an extention to do that feature.

You can trick FireFox out like no other browser.
But strait out of the box, Safari staill pwns.
