What year did you get into this Biz and how???

I saw the topic of what was the first program you used. I'm curious when everyone started.

I started in 96... In 94 I got my first machine and taught myself how to do html. There was no front page or anything like that. I used programs like hot dog. They were basically html editors. The the big Windows 95 came out. I then entered a home page making contest and won.

So from there I started surfing porn and downloading pics from AOL and other places and even some BBS's. I decided I could build a site. So I took all the pictures I had taken and started building a paysite. I then met up with Clay from Paycom and was their second ever client. So I set up a billing option and from there it all started.

Before the paysite I use to own some very large top50 sites which is where people traded traffic before there was thumbnail posts. I use to own teenfactory, thepics, tropicalteens, and one other I cant remember. These sites did hundereds of thousands of hits a day. Plus I had a ton of circle jerk sites that we would send the traffic from top50 to top50 and just skim some of the traffic to send to xpics and they would prepay me like 50 grand a month for a few links. Man it was easy money back then..

whats your story?

I was doing mainstream web programming work for a few years and in 2000-2001 when it all bottomed out, I got working with www.masktv.com who needed a webmaster.

Now I'm doing my own thing and they just launched www.bankingbucks.com

Hard to believe it's been so long.

I broke my arm in highschool and instead of gym class my school decided to stick me into a small room with a single computer and this thing called the Internet (back in 94). I found a little site called Yahoo (it really was little at the time), and started playing around from there. I self-taught myself html with notepad (which I still use to this day), and from there I started to really love tinkering with algorithms. Things went very slowly until 2000 since I was full-time in school. Around 2000, the mainstream internet bubble burst. I figured, why not try adult, sex sells right? Never looked back since

Started in 2000 making galleries and then shifted to Design in 2001, with Darren (Mensniche) as first client... and right after we worked for you LAMike... many many many FPAs!

Thanks for your business - it was really a great moment and very important for the beginning of our company!

Take care,

Started a few adult humor websites that were getting some decent traffic then added some amateur pages banners up on it and the good times started. ;)

Figured out how to submit galleries and make a few bucks a day off it. Then I replicated the successful forumula hundreds of times over and over again.

Started up GTS about a year ago with my partner at the time Cam and that was by far my most successful venture in adult thus far.

Oh yea... I remembered my other big toplist.. It was dailysexlinks.com

And my other HUGE project was a site called Pornmall.net

It was one of the first ever free hosting sites. I use to make a ton of money from it but I sold it to help the funding of my first affiliate program

ya, i was getting about 30k/month from xpics. Funny thing was, all my SE traffic going to them for every niche you can think of was going to thier THREE sites and killing it. Those were the days.

1996-1997 got bored of playing around on bbs's and my brother had showed me the net (all text based is what i learned from) from there used hookup.net out of toronto for my net connection and learned from there...

did lots of warez back in the day (i remember the win95 65 disks i had 3-4 months before it came out) then moved to design. back then there wasnt any programs aside from notepad or hotdog.. i used notepad.. made some good $ doing design and consulting for people bringing their biz online.. in 98 i started my own blog style site and with exits and so forth did a bit off that.. then took it to the next step and lived my life on webcam from 99-02 and took what i had learned about the demographics and so forth and applied it to other peoples ventures. last adult site i did was naughtyjenn.com with jenn and was a great learning experince from what i had learned and what we applied in the personal touch realm... whats next.. well i cant tell ya yet

I think i have done everything in the biz from being content, shooting content, graphics, hosting, marketting etc etc (only thing i havent done is billing i will leave that to ccbill and paycom)

I was the roommate of Shawn Bode, of SexTracker fame, while we were both in school. Most days Shawn wouldn?t show his head in the place but one of the days that he did he mentioned I should learn HTML. The next time we saw each other I knew it front to back by coding it raw in notepad. He hired me and I was the 7th employee at SexTracker and the rest is history. That was in 98 I think.

Great story Mike...

Ours was a bit different.

We tried just about everything and couldn't get any traffic.
We started off with AVS sites then launched our own AVS Agecheck.com, still had no traffic. Then we came up with the craziest idea ever. Free hosting to anyone that would use our AVS on their site. That was the key. This was all back in 96.
From then on, we just added programs no other AVS had and made us different. But for about two years, we struggled and struggled. Borrowed money from here, there it was crazy.
Then my brother Gary said, maybe you guys should get an office but we were still scared back then. We were like. That's 1000 bucks a month, what if, what if.

What we learned out of all this. We could of took the easy way out and folded the company but instead, we all stayed positive. Positive things happen tp positive thinkers. 8 years later, about 80 Employees in a 20,000 Square foot building. Can't complain.

So a big thanks to everyone that supported us along the way .

A few cheeseburgers ago I was a mainstream model. I was tired of being a starving artist & I got into porn to pay off some bills. The girls in porn back then were scary at best, minus a few, so to keep wood for some of the 300 magazine layouts that I appeared in, I went scouting for my own female talent to shoot with. The other girls in the biz said "how is it that you are male talent in this biz about women & you make 4X as much as we do as female talent? So, I showed them how, and kept looking for girls that were going to make more $$$ than I was as a stunt cock. I picked up a camera for some test shots, found 44 Penthouse Pets, 212 Hustler models & hundreds of porn stars & the rest is POV Porn history.

Read the book
Buy the movie
see the website - www.povporn.com
but best of all...
promote the only real reality porn site in the world by clicking the sig below!!!

Started in 95 learning html just for fun. First I used notepad, then switched over to famous hotdog.

I got in touch with porn building a modelsite (softcore only) for a friend. Visitors asked for more so we did.

Traffic today is a little bit more difficult to get today, I´m afraid.

Funny thing is, hotdog is still alive. Just googled for it:

Yea, thats so awesome. I never did mess with AVS at all... But man that shit was a big competitor to paysite programs since day one. You guys definately had a good niche.

Yea, when I first got started I had to dump all my saving into my 1 man company just to get it afloat. Then for the first year I think I put 85% of what I made back into the company and even quit a really good job. It was so scary at first but those 18 hour days payed off. Hard work actually works I guess

Isnt it crazy how much the quality of the girls has gone up in the last 5 years??

I started building web pages in 1994 when I lived in St. Thomas, and quickly developed two online travel magazines to promote toursim in the Virgin Islands.

Sitting in my storm shelter during Hurricane Marilyn's assault on the island, waiting for my roof to blow off, and realizing that my business - based upon a local client base - was being swept into the Caribbean, I came up with 'plan b' - instead of building sites that pleased others, I could build sites that pleased me, and if others didn't like my adult properties, I'd make money when they clicked out.

Most importantly, divorcing myself from having to rely upon a local client base for my income allowed me to live and work wherever I pleased, without fears of forces beyond my control, as long as I had at least electricity and a dial tone.

The rest, as they say, is history...

Everyone wants to be the next Jenna Jamesson.

If I listed some of the girls that I found in strip clubs, shopping malls, 7-11, and online that I got into porn - you wouldn't even believe me. But, anyone in the know, knows. I just wish that I had taken up some of the 40% rev share offers that I got to do a web site back in 97, 98, 99. Keep kicking myself but hoping for great things in the future. Oh, and I'm still looking for the next Jenna... just as long as I get her first scene on POV Porn.
