12clicks runs a company called Standard Internet. And you've all seen me talk about them before. Well, here we go again.

Last night, a friend called me up and complained that everytime he uses the internet, his surfing is constantly interrupted by pop-up after pop-up. So, I offered to come over and help him remove the pesky adware from his computer.

Well, upon inspection, I found out that he had recently downloaded a "FREE" screensaver offered to him on a adpage. This screensaver (offered up by Standard Internet's popuptraffic service) comes complete with "ad-supported" software.

This "ad-supported" software then serves up ad after ad ....depending on what you enter in the browser address bar, and by what you search for...and simply by launching the browser.

Now, here's where it effects all of you. While I was there, and before I removed the offending piece of scumware from his system, I went to one of my own Adult Friend Finder ad pages. Well, lo and behold, what also launches?...a pop-up for Alt.com & passion.com...with someone else's affiliate codes in them. So, they go to my ad page...they are served up someone else's ads..and they get the commission.

Now, I can GUARANTEE that Ron will come to this post, and try to derail my claims by stating all sorts of unrelated comments..such as...go back to flipping burgers... call the FTC...etc.

But, the simple fact is, 12Clicks and his company are costing YOU money. So, I'm not going to respond to any of his comments. Instead, if you decide to post in this thread...I ask that you always add my text above as a quote, so that everyone that comes to this thread can see the original intent...and see that 12Clicks is STEALING your money.

And, no Ron, it doesn't matter that you are simply an "ad-broker". The fact is, 99% of the ads served up by your popuptraffic program are ad-supported scumware.

And, anyone that wants to see for themselves, feel free to put this little bit of code on a html page.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" src="http://www.popuptraffic.com/assign.php?l=traffic"></script>
This comes straight from Standard Internet's popuptraffic affiliate page. This will launch the ads served by Standard Internet. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that no matter what 12Clicks/Ron says...his program is the number 1 provider of scumware on the net.

P.S. Don't download his spywareremover programs offered in the adpages. At least one of them is a known trojan...which goes on to install it's own little ad-supported software.

Before you post..please think! Do you really want to stand up for this piece of scum, while his programs are effectively STEALING the money right out of your pockets.

why is 12clicks posting so much in this thread?

because I'm waiting for my lunch date to arrive.
I eat lunch at 11:45 sharp and its almost 1:00.
I need something to do while my stomach growls.
welcome troll!

I don't know why people try shit like this. They should know that someone's going to find out and spill it on the boards.

Maybe he did it, maybe he didn't. I've seen no proof posted. I think it would be very stupid to do such a thing and 12clicks doesn't strike me as being that stupid. But, then again, he did say he was voting for Bush so who knows. :)

In the meantime, I wish he'd send ME some clicks. The link to my affiliate program is in my sig. :)

I think 12clicks should just send all GFY members with over 3K posts $1K to help make up for all the money we've lost.

I'd say start posting your paypal and epassporte IDs, but there might be hackers on the board that would try to hack the accounts.

So just ICQ everyone. OK, that's a tuff one. Everyone in this thread then. Oh, write on the back of the check settlement in full to cover you ass just in case.

If someone did add a pop (with their affiliate ID) on a link to say Friendfinders, what law would be broken? Is this way different than what doubleclicks does? Not saying I'm happy if the event takes place, but is there anything you could really do about it besides trash 12clicks here?

Sign back of check and funds sent via epassporte or paypal - good one. Maybe a text message with the payment. Wonder if that would hold up the same as a statement on a check? No need to answer. Just one of those things that make ya go ahmmmm.

No, that's why I said "I believe" not "I know". I seem to recall someone doing some jail time for doing something similar. But I could be wrong. Probally going to take some looking to find out.

This thread is worthless without real evidence. You have none. Zero. I guarantee that your stupid friend that thought that screensaver was cool has 30 other adware/spyware programs on his computer. Finding out which one is actually doing what you claim, is hard. Hire a professional to back your claims or shut it.

Sounds like an area that needs to be defined at law or I need to learn about it.

So if nothing else the 49th as caused some thought and research. A good thing.

As usual the proof statement is a good point.

The49th did post code to try as proof. He meets the rules of the board IMO. So we can all have at it. Be sure to start with a clean machine.

Normally the comment is STFU not just a simple shut it.
