Those are good qualities to look for. I'd have to draw the line at the open house policy thing. My house is my haven and I don't like to feel invaded. Sounds good to me. The house deal is probably more related to what someone is used to. I'm really close with my family so I have them and my friends tromping in and out, day and night. I never think about it and they all have their own key, lol. My ex-husband used to get a little freaked out at first because he wasn't raised like that. The travel deal will probably be the hardest, depending on her work and other commitments.

This is my advise, within time the right one will come along, just be patient, I am sure you will find what you deserve. I think it's a reasonable 'wishlist' Sleazy. I'll tell you though that not everyone likes a portal as a home :1orglaugh. My husband was amazed at how people just stop by for supper or sleep over and come to us without calling & some don't even bother ringing the doorbell. Things changed a little to accomodate him (people walking in the house while you're doing the nasty ruins the moment) so we learned to lock all doors at all times - and hinted more on the calling before since we work from home. All in all when it's the right person, even if they aren't used to it, they'll see the positive aspect & that's that they will have you & you're love.

I can't imagine not having an open-door house. It's cool for me to see folks whenever, because I'm kinda bohemian like that.

I grew up with holidays of over 60 people in our small house - in those days all we cared about was a good meal and the entire family being in one place at one time & getting to play cards & boardgames with our family.

Our house has always been a freeway - hubby's family was basically 4 people just because of things being different in his part of the world. He's getting used to it - with my mother living with us, it's just second nature for everyone to just walk in for some of her cooking.

It slowed down a little but I guarantee you that anyone coming off a plane that knows any of my family in another country will have been referred to our house/address/phone number as a starting point. We're just like that. When anyone needs anything - they will first come to us then wait for our direction.
My father always joked that there must have been honey in the foundations cuz with all the family we have, our house is the one with the most movement.
