the bible clearly states that "i am the lord your god, you shall have no other gods..." blah blah blah

basically it is saying that he is who you are supposed to worship, and not to worship any others....right?

then why do the religious types pray to jesus, and not god?

wasn't jesus just gods son sent here to spread his word and teach us?

Over time the bible has been taken into many different contexts to help justify the means and needs of others. If everything about god is true, then there would be only one religion. That's why there is also a new testament to the bible. The old one was sort of dated to the needs of certain religions.
