We are in Mexico 6 months out of the year, and the exchange is about 11.35 right now. Cost of living is pretty good. But gas is about the same as in Cali.

hate to say it, but like most of latin america, costa rica is a slum.

and blame the natives.

can't pick up after themselves.

in comparison, southeast asia is much cleaner.

for folks being poor, bangkok is one of the cleanest big cities in the world.

and san jose, costa rica, is a pigsty.

i´m an uruguayan, from Montevideo, Uruguay.

i think´s nice, secure and (+ or -) cheap. (with 2000 ? / usd u can live really really fine).

now where are entering in the summer and u have Punta del Este if want some fiesta.

u got sea (technically is a river but..) and the beatiful "rambla".

next Buenos Aires (big BIG city) at less than 1 hour in airplane, 2 in ship or 5 in car (if you feel yoursel fast and furious ;)).

i was in Europe (Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, Amsterdam) and think is wonderful, still love my little Montevideo.
