Try Monte Carlo

azguy 11-25-2004 01:39 PM

Did you and that girl already hook up, or will a good hotel make that happen? :eatmouse

i've always said that if you can't be as comfortable travelling, then there's no sense in travelling in the first place... if the funds are there, always splurge on a nice room, it's good for the mind, body and sould.

Its not a matter of having money or not, its a matter of where your priorities are...i honestly dont care about hotels, i always spend good money on holidays but i hate paying for hotels.

i used to feel the same way. but on a last minute 3 night trip, we were only able to book a cheap hotel (like $89 a night). and we stayed in a hostel once when we first started going out and we were college students with minimum wage jobs.

since those trips, i've always had no problem spending a few extra hundred on a nice room. you definetly notice the difference.

Indeed, esp at conventions it's nice to have a large room to relax in between all the partying.

Battuss, I think your best bet would be the Tropicana. The 30, 31,and 1st are going to be outrageous because of New Years Eve. Every room in Vegas will be sold out.

If you dont like it or want to impress the girl when she comes move to another hotel on Sunday when the rates drop back to normal.

Thanks, i'll check it out. I will most likely find something cheap for the first days and then move to a good hotel when the chick arrives.

A good cheap place in the middle of the strip is the Imperial Palace. It's right beside the Venetian, across from the mirage and Ceasars Palace.

I've stayed there before, it's not the Bellagio but it's good value. :)

the orleans its rioght around the corner from mandaly. Pretty inexpensive. Around 150-200 for 4 nights

Drinkin' Hard's got a good point. I've always stayed at the IP due to location AND, they have a room with a tub in it, which makes for some great evenings.

I wouldn't call it right around the corner but a cab could get you there in a few minutes the back way without having to go along the Strip. It would be about an hour's walk though through a deserted industrial area :glugglug
