$20 paypal to the one that can help me get a toolbar off my computer!

I got a TOOLBAR installed even though I clicked on the X to close the installer. Now that is just fucked up.

Now it does not go away even when I use both SPYBOT and ADAWARE and I am starting to get pissed as they dont even give correct information on how to uninstall the shit (even have popup ads on timer)

The companies providing the toolbar:

http://www.thecoolbar.com/terms.php

and the company behind it is

http://www.blazefind.com/license.html

and the help section is flat out lying about the uninstall.

Now, I am not adverse to toolbars in itself, but I get pissed when they lie about how to uninstall them - at least give us smarter users a chance! (this might sound redundant - LOL)

I will give $20 via PayPal to the first one that get me the REAL uninstall method for this toolbar and all the shit that came along with it.

Try the Add/Remove - if that doesn't do it.

Check what's running in the background - note them, shut them down.

Click Start->Run->type msconfig
Check Selective Startup - then go to the Startup Folder - if any of them have references to the filenames that you noted above - uncheck them -> click apply & then Exit without restart.

Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)
Type regedit

Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)

Navigate to and delete the keys:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{83DE62E 0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2}

That should help you

JEEZ - this thing is catching an AMAZING amount of stuff that the others didnt...

About half way through the scan right now and counting a bunch!

And I thought SPYBOT and ADAWARE was all I needed :-(

Answer coming up in about 5 minutes -thanks for ALL help so far - cash to be dispensed in a few more than likely.

Bulletproof Spyware Remover to the rescue.

The first time I ran it I had JUST RUN Adaware and Spybot. Bulletproof found SO MUCH that neither of the other two picked up on.

I bought it right then and there.

Dont think this is hoops - he HAS uninstalls that works.

But if it is he, then he will let me know I am sure of :-)

The Spyhunter software was a BUY version, just bought it (another $30 out the window)

Have to re-run it to know it all worked. Be back in 5 here again

I hate those programs that you have to buy before they remove it..Of course they are going to find "severe" items to get you to buy it

First off one doesn't need to spend money to kill spyware, especially toolbars.
Buggering around in the registry is lame because the actual files are still on
the hard drive.

Download HijackThis, scan, save log, and post log here and I'll show you what to put
checkmarks on to remove. In the meantime shut off system restore and reboot.

Why are you still using IE? That's the source of ALL your problems.

Stop using that piece of shit and your problems will disappear.

this should get rid of it quickly:

To manually remove coolbar you can rename it, but it will still have values in the registry

so go to the start menu, click run, and write: regedit ( to open the registry of your computer ) ,

then look for : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{2342 DB04-08CE-4CF6-976D-BD9EFA960EFB},

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/CLSID/{9056A11F-5EA6-4A67-BDE9- 8D3C7C453DAC} and

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/TypeLib/{549AD 254-492D-42B5-8909-34F14348D4BC} and delete them

after deleting these3, restart your computer, now delete the folder C:\sysfwb

If you cant delete the directory reboot in safe mode and do it that way

good luck

Use system restore and select a restore point prior to the day you got the toolbars.

Half the problem with these damn things is that they change your search and home pages so that even after your spyware removal program does it's job, you get it right back again by simply launching the browser. System restore will put things back to the point where all of your browser pages are what they should be.

As someone else pointed out, the files will still be on your hard drive, but who gives a fuck.... if they aren't being accessed then there is no problem.

Half the problem with these damn things is that they change your search and home pages so that even after your spyware removal program does it's job, you get it right back again by simply launching the browser. System restore will put things back to the point where all of your browser pages are what they should be.

As someone else pointed out, the files will still be on your hard drive, but who gives a fuck.... if they aren't being accessed then there is no problem.

or you could just use hijackthis and remove it in 5 minutes as opposed to 30

I just got the fix and it was NONE of the above guys!

Here is the ONLY solution that worked: http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm

AMAZING!

Since there were so many good advice here I will split the $20 in two between the two solutions that came the closest.

"vixm" and "xclusive" will get $10 each for good advice.

"vixm" - I sent it to you already

"xclusive" - I need your paypal information!
