First off one doesn't need to spend money to kill spyware, especially toolbars.
Buggering around in the registry is lame because the actual files are still on
the hard drive.

HijackThis, scan, save log, and post log here and I'll show you what to put
checkmarks on to remove. In the meantime shut off system restore and reboot.
