Something good for a change.....
Many of you online as well as myself, have maybe partially, if not totally, shut down your personal and professional lives because of the recent events in our nation and around the world. This is totally understandable as each of us has a different manner in which we must mourn and grieve for the loss and upset's we naturally feel at the tragedy that has occurred and continues to occur in NY and our nation daily.
I want to offer that I find that it helps to make an extra effort to remind myself to take time out and appreciate the things that we have in our lives that bring a little reassurance and happiness in spite of these happenings. Maybe this will help some of us here. It wont diminish our reverence for the seriousness of these acts and the suffering we are sharing nor do I wish to provoke an air of nonchalance of the gravity of the tragedies taking place. I would like to use this post though, to suggest that another way to honor those lost and the hardships we are sharing with friends and family around the globe might be to reach out to someone, anyone, with an act of kindness instead of allowing tempers to flare. Pick up the phone and call a loved one or a friend that you would like to say, "Hi,How's it been going?," to. Take a moment to observe the smile on a loved ones face or realize an action of theirs that you can easily see irritates the hell out of you normally, and this time chuckle because now we should all know with a new found certainty that in a single moment, they could disappear or be taken from you. Before this tragedy you didn't think such a thing possible as your spouse or associate leaving for work or just a short trip into the nearby city, on any given day and not returning. EVER! Instead of provoking an argument or jumping into the fray of one I would offer to any of us, that you might consider taking the extra moment needed to hold in the anger and spout of hostilities you want to give way to and instead speak the words it may take to induce a little kindness and healing. We have all gotten to know a little about the other members here as we have spent time at the GFY BBS... "I want to ask you what good thing will you enjoy today?" Share a thought that may make someone else smile or chuckle. Alleviate some sorrow. Tell me what it is that you know will add a bit of added sunshine to your path today? ![]() What small thing can you share? My girlfriend and I are donating our time and efforts to an open festival here. (we're tending bar) The money goes to a group to help buy food for the homeless. This will be our third time this year.

Thats great you guys! smiles
I know from the ICQ's that I am recieving that more feel the same as we do, I wish some of you would add them here along with these, but I understand... Thanks to you just the same though for your kind thoughts everyone, more of us have something that a little good can be seen in. It would appear however that more of us would rather keep it in private. Thanks for your input and warmest regards as always, Kandi ------------------ The Midnight Collection/ The Midnight Cunts Partner Program The Official TGP2 Submitter Tool "You see things that are and say why, I see things that have yet to be and say, Why Not?" kandi, if anyone is interested, (out here in Cali) we also help arrange comedy club benefits around different places in and around the Bay Area with some very funny people (no one famous... sorry) for the same organization, and all proceeds go to helping feed the homeless. I know this is not a promo thread, but I thought I would throw that in for anyone who enjoys live comedy acts.

On Each sunday The booze and Broads will be donating all the money made for each day to those who lost there lives in NY, And believe me these people can drink so I hope it's quite a bit to send up to them;-)

The good thing I did today was to take the time and spend a very quiet and peaceful day with my family........ Saturday and Sunday in fact. VERY little work and NO news....... just us and the kids............ it was quite cool and they were happy about the time we took too.
![]() Ok, yeah I worked a little but due to all of this, I have realized the value of time with them so I am trying to spend more time with the family and less hours at my pc......... And it's working too, my brain isn't so fried and I know who my kids are again. ![]() We didn't do anything as far as the "Crisis" is concerned, in fact tried to stay far away from it...... no offense to anyone, my family has just been too worried about that, and it was good to just breathe for a couple of days.
