Type-ins domain I'm thinking about selling, $30k+ year in revenue from redirection

I got a type-ins domain that is generating around $30k/year in revenues. All I do it redirect the traffic to a sponsor and get paid for the signups.

The sponsor is a very well-known and stable one. I've been doing that since I bought the domain, in early 2002.

How much do you think I could ask for it?

Keeping it would be a good idea, but if you insist on getting rid of it, you should ask for something worth while.

I hear ya. I've had the domain for 2.5+ years though, and it's not slowing down.

Don't sell oil wells unless they've started to stop producing.

Like I said, I'm considering selling, testing the waters.

I wonder how much I could get

It's very stable revenue, so that's why I never bothered with trying to sell it, but tonight I'm wondering how much it's worth.

Three months worth of income is normally where the pricing stands so about $7500.00 All depends on viewing stats and all.

Not saying you cant get more, but its doubtful you will get a years worth of revenue.

I dont think you should sell it.

IMHO

well if your estimate of the value is right, I'd never ever sell.

Nobody could ever be so strapped for cash that they'd sell for so cheap.

On another note, if anyone out there is selling type-ins domain with 2.5 years of history of making around $3k/month and they only want $7500 for it, let me know!!

Oh, I agree with you. Thats why I was wondering why you would sell. That is how value is figured in most cases though. That was been my experience anyways.

Since we dont know the domain, its hard to really know. With no domain name, one could only calculate the value based on revenue and three months of sales is about right for estimating value on a site.

Now it the domain is teens.com then we have an entirely different situation.

For adult websites? Sure.

Consistant type in (or typo sometimes) domains? (Very) rarely.

How much do you think I could ask for it?

it really depends on what it is, if it's a typo of a paysite or something like that it would be worth much less then something more generic like nudeteens.com where you can switch sponsor sites. I think you could get around $20k+ depending on the name.

Not when it comes to certain domain names. (Hint: TMed names)

Exactly.

If we're looking at type in traffic, serious buyers would have no trouble forking over a minimum of 12 months income.

30k yearly from a sponsor in type ins? Hit me up on ICQ to see if we can't help you increase that revenue. You should keep it but find ways to make it earn more

If I was you, I would try to make more of it, try different promos(except redirects) and sponsors. There may be a potential for more.

3x is still 33% ROI on the first year.. and much better in the second year. With the potential for a long term cash cow.

Hard to find investments that'll return that much if you have the capital invest.

That makes sense to me

But I just cant see the point in selling it from your point of view

What about developing it...... get the full income not just a partnership %

That could doudle the income
