My F150 has a "Low Emissions Vehicle" sticker on the window. What does it mean?

What do you think it really means? I know I only get 12mpg in the city and 15mpg on the highway.

What's the sticker mean?

Probaly would pass the California pollution control..It has to do with the emmisions your vehicle releases in the air, carbon monoxide etc

It means you bought the bottom of the line Ford truck. They'd like to have put an F-350 sticker on, but instead you got a lousy polution sticker.

It means that you're still spewing many times the pollution that regular cars do since you're burning 3 times the fuel.

LOL. Nah. This is a pretty nice truck. Supercab, Leather, Lariat, Heated Seats... nice.

I had a crew cab diesel I bought new, but didn't really need that big a truck. This one's perfect.

You know I'm teasing ... What I can't get over is the price of any pickup loaded with options these days. Incredible.

We have to take our cars in every year so the government can take our 40 bucks to say our cars don't pollute that much compared to the smoke beltching diesel trucks

If you say so.

The difference between F150, F250 and F350 is duty. An F350 is a heavy duty work truck.

A base model entry level Ford truck would be a bare bones Ranger.

I was playing with Donovan and you completely missed it. That's okay, I'll draw a picture next time so the peanut gallery can keep up.

Actually, I kind of fibbed. I couldn't draw a reasonable replica of a stick figure. I'm not ashamed to admit I don't have an artistic bone in my body.

Its all pretty much do to the Pre Cat. It's a scrubber of sorts which catches alot of the shit that your engine puts out into the air. Any car that is 50 states legal will have low emissions. The Pre Cat fits inbetween your exhaust manifold and muffler. Take it off and you will get better gas milage but dont attempt to get it smogged.

I wonder... is my F150 spitting out less pollution than Honda Accords pre-LEV regulations? And when did LEV regulations start?

Sure, even if the emissions PER GALLON OF FUEL are less, the fact that you're using 3 times the fuel pretty much negates that f eel-good marketing BS
