I have been flying once just go to a local flight school and once they get you in the air you can take over the plane it's pretty cool and everybody should try it at least once...

I took classes a long time ago, then decided it was better to let someone who does it full time sit in the pilots seat.

Flying itself isn't the hard part. What really frazzled me was all the meterology you have to learn and understand. That shit with figuring wind, storm patterns and shear etc was really complex.

Actually.. thats the easy part..

The hard part is the upkeep of the aircraft once you have bought it

Lee

I took a few helicopter lessons when I was younger. I know enough that I could fly one if I had to, depending on what type of chopper it was. I quit after my instructor got killed and did not look back. The helicopter was a robinson R22

Its on my short list of things to do, everyone tells me not to take up flying until you have about $5K saved up for all the simulator and aircraft rentals.

You're going to see a real revolution in the next few years as the prices for older corporate jets drop with new planes like the Eclipse 500 are produced in any great numbers.

I'm hoping the market for fast propeller planes like the Mooney drop as their owners want jets over props.

I have always wanted to do it. Have flown in small planes a few times, but generally found it pretty nerve racking

I have TONS of time in PC flight sims, and try to fly them as realistic as possible.
