Photoshop Gurus

Anyone here know a good way to make a professionally shot pic look amateur. Are there any effects I can apply to lower the quality of the pic and make it look less like a studio shot. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

thanks

Adjust the brightness and contrast down, add a small amount of noise and save at around JPEG quality 40 or 50.

Lower the DPI level to something reasonable... if it was shot at 300dpi, drop it to about 50DPI and it will start to get that crappy 1 megapixel look.

You can also crop the pictures to remove the "good" image composition, moving the subject to incorrect places in the image.

Add some red eye.

Desaturate the image slightly, lower the contrast, up the brightness...

etc...

Alex

Wish I had your problem. Besides the tips mentioned. Try playing around with adjustments->posterize and adjustment->color balance (add some green).

Print the picture out, rub it in the dirt and scan it in again.
