LOLOL..Gonna sound funny but put the kid in his carseat and sit him on the dryer with it running. Its just like driving around with him. Also the mylecon suggestion that myself and a few others suggested can be a life saver if it is gas, trust me on this one. My oldest was very gassy. His formula caused it, we switched and even went to strictly breast milk and nothing helped till we tried the big M, hell if I wouldnt have to take so much I would take it when my stomach hurt....LOLOLOL Also the destraction suggestion is good. Babys have a short attention span and if you can get him locked on something for long enough to forget the pain then its sleepytime. The SHHHHHHHHHHH effect also works wonders but really only for infants, at least in my case. Once the oldest got more mobile and could get around the SHHHHHHHH just didnt work.

PS, dont get the Mylecon brand. Go to Kroger or Wallgreens and get their store version of it. Its the same fucking thing, actually worked better, and about $8 less a bottle...LOLOL

Before you run off to doc and look for meds for your baby:

Make sure the diapers clean
Make sure the babys been burped good
Make sure the room is a comfortable temp.
Make sure room noise is kept down

Oh boy how many times I did this, or the washer on the spin cycle..... LOL

I was about to mention this one, but you beat me to it. I used to have to take Jessie in the car and drive her around the block, but when it got too cold or the roads were too bac, the washer and dryer worked like a charm..... LMAO

The carseat works well too because it forces them to sit up more and they can release the gas on their tummies better. Jessie is now almost 21........ so good GOD why did ya have to make me drag THAT up from way back there?

Everyone keeps saying "Go to the Dr" "Go to the E.R."....if you go everytime your kid cries, you will live there. If they continue crying into the next day, then maybe, but not just a few hours at night.

All of the suggestions listed here are things I thought of when I read your first post.
Car
Dryer
Mylacon
Shhhhh

They are all good, and as you get used to your child, you will figure out what works best. Good luck!

Probably colicy... If he is breastfed, it could be that your wife/girlfriend ate something that was bad for baby's tummy.. These things can be caffiene, cabbage, beans, anything that would normally give a big person gas will also give a baby gas. Also spicy foods are to be avoided..

If it's forumla, the baby may be in need of a burp, or maybe has a sensitive stomach... I would suggest you go to the pharmacy and get some GRIPE WATER. Woodwards is generally best as it has no alcohol (some of the other ones have a small amount, not harmful but better not to have it). A bit of gripe water can really make your life easier. If you have other questions, you can hit me up

Also, sometimes if a baby is fussy, it can be a good idea to sit down somewhere and lay the baby across a blanket on it's tummy and rub it's back.. a lot of times this can help you get the gas through, just make sure you don't lay baby in the crib on it's tummy.. always have someone with it when you're doing this.

You can also push the babies legs up like it's crouching, a lot of times this can also help them work out the gas or the poop or whatever they're fussing about.

Did you try to make him burp? or try to see a doctor?

I agree with most of the people here ... it is most likely Colic .... make sure he is burped correctly, if not he will be very misserable, also like Porn Guy said, wrap the baby up very well and shhhh him, that will sooth him as well .... and if all fails, just give your doctor a call instead of driving to an ER room, you never know on the way there he may fall alseep and all he needed was just a car ride .... LOL ....its tough but i have a little one and she had the same problem ... goodluck

What she and others have said. Gripe water is worth trying as it's harmless. If using formula then try a different brand or better still breast milk for as long as possible as it really is MUCH healthier for most people.

Amazing how many people want to rush a crying baby to the doctor or ER. No wonder the queues in hospitals and doctors are always so long.

Yeah... My children all had sensitive stomachs, in fact they thought my son had pyloris his was so bad.. I switched formulas and it made all the difference int he world.. I find that Nestle Good Start (in a pink can) is THE best as far as keeping baby's tummy happy.. it's got protiens broken up so it's not as harsh as similac or enfilac or any of the others. I would suggest that.. Not only that, but it's a few dollars cheaper than the other brands. Nestle has been making baby milk for a century.. guess they got good at it

anyone who thinks colic is a myth or over exaggerated is HIGHLY misinformed! It exists and it's very painful for babies. I suffered from colic when I was a baby. When my parents brought me to the doctor, the doctor told them to add a bit of brewer's yeast to my formula. I don't recommend that or know how much etc. but according to my parents it remedied my colic.

Anyway, I'm sure they have better things for it now so see what your pediatrician says. Poor baby

finally got some sleep, he'll probbaly sleep all day now so I will too hehe.

he's only 10 days old so this is all new to us. I may be heading to the pharmacy for some of that gripe stuff today. he must be all gassed up and can't let it out because all weekend he farted like an animal then yeterday hardly farted at all. He also hasen't had a bowel movement since sunday afternoon. I called the telecare number that your suposed to call before emergency room visits and they aren't too concerned yet but if he cries non stop for 2 hours we have to call again and probably bring him in.

thanks for all the help folks and to the haters thank you too, you make me love my son even more.

Don't worry too much about constipation. A baby's tummy is unpredictable at best and 2-3 days constipation now and again is normal enough although obviously beyond that you should seek help. From every day they're a little constipated you'll have one where they won't stop crapping to make up :D

Temperature and rashes are the big things to keep an eye on.
