Attn: Coca-Cola Drinkers
This was taken from a newspaper clipping I got over the weekend, and is retyped it word for word.
************************************************** * THIS WEEK'S TIP: Recently, the know-it-alls at Coke decided to change their 2-liter size bottle to1.5 liters. Their reasoning? The bottle is eaiser to hold and pour. I have a lot of problems with this. Personally, I think it's a rip-off. The price for the 1.5-liter bottle is the same as I was paying for the 2-liter. Why pay the same for less soda? Our local supermarkets have been trying to rid their shelves of the 2-liter size by running sales. You can bet I'm snapping up that soda like crazy. Once they're gone totally, I'm going to switch brands, as much as I love Coke. I'm just hopping mat at this. Remember, you as the consumer have the power. When Coke switched their formula back in the 80's, the people rebelled. Coke had no choise but to bring back the orignal soda. If we all refuse to buy the 1-5-liter size they're trying to pawn off on us for the same price as the 2-liter, they'll be forced to reconsider. Oh and for good measure, call the Coca-Cola compay at 800-438-2653 to complain! ************************************************** * I am a Coca-Cola drinker myself, and if Coke does this, whats to say that Pepsi wont be next. If you are a pepsi drinker stand up and fight for coke, not to do this, as you may be next. |

Coke was always overpriced, I pay like 1.50EUR for 1L coke and 30cent for 1.5L soda.

"Our laboratory showed in 1993 that mice given cola drinks instead of drinking water develop tissue potentially carcinogenic DNA damage. This was not observed when other sodas were substituted. (Randerath, Putman and Randerath, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications vol 192, 61-68 (1993)." http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/your...opinionid=4161
Ick. I used to live on Vanilla Coke, too.

Don't buy the 2 liters in bulk. That stuff breaks down fast because of the plastic bottle and tastes nasty. Look at expiration dates on cans, they are usually up to a year away; the plastic bottles, never more than a couple months. It's been like that since they switched from sugar to high fructose corn syrup.

I was upset when Breyers did the same thing with their ice cream. It went from 1/2 gallon to 1.75L for the same price.
