Are most sponsor account reps also affiliates?

Just curious. It would seem like a natural thing if you see affiliates making big coin with your program to get involved and throw some of your own traffic at it. Benefits the program and you. On your own time (not office hours hehe).

Maybe, maybe not?

I'd say they can be affiliates, but they don't have to be.

That's like saying if you work for Coca Cola, then your whole family has to drink it at home.

With a few exceptions, most general niche programs convert similar anyway, so one can be a sales rep. for sponsor A, but send most of his traffic to Silver Cash or Nasty Dollars and personally I don't see any problem with it.

Yeah I see what you're saying. I guess I figure if an account rep is able to give advice on how to sell the product the best way, then they obviously know how to sell it so why not sell some of it themselves.

Coo Jace, geuss it's quite common after all

Yep, but I'd say that rather applies to specific programs like penis pills, enlargement devices, desktop strippers etc, but not necessarly for adult paysites that basically look all the same.

Some are and some aren't. For the programs they are working for it depends on what's in their contracts and whether they allow them to do so (most would I assume).

I generally do not promote any sponsors when I work for a company simply because I don't have the additional time to devote to it.

Why not?

It's best to know the affiliates program and what traffic works best with it.

So why not use your own traffic to push something you are working for?

I think it's pretty split. Lots of account repts are affiliates and lots are not.

Lots of account repts aren't even webmasters at all.

I know when I was with Webquest (FlyntDigital, VividCash, Cashquest2), I certaintly sent my personal traffic to anything I saw doing well. I'm still pushing all 3 programs :-)

It's one thing for a Rep to tell you so and so site does excellent (since that's what they say about everything), but it's a whole different story when you see it with your own eyes and know it's true.

I'm actually surprised when I find Reps that don't webmaster on there own.

Speaking for myself, I was promoting Epic Cash for 6 months before I they hired me. And I still promote them.

Personally, I'd feel like a phony if I was sitting here telling people "Send us your traffic!", "We convert!", "You'll do great with our cam/ethnic/whatever sites!" but I wasn't doing it myself.

Like psyko said, i wouldn't be able to rave about a program if I haven't tried them out and they were actually good.

I promote lots of sponsors including Dating Gold, I find its best to know how to promote your own program. It helps me do a better job and makes it easier to talk to affiliates if you run sites too.

That's another aspect I forgot to mention. If the program wasn't good, there's no way I'd work for them.

I run my own sites. I know the value of my traffic and the work I have to do to build and maintain my sites and their traffic. I'd be pissed of some rep were to lie to me about his program and waste my time, so I'd never do the same to someone else.

not all sponsor account reps are affiliate. some are just promoting the sponsors and getting a fix salary.
