![]() I visited a friend of mine today to fix his PC, it was infected with loads of trojans, virii and backdoors so I decided to format the HD and start all over again.
When I left it was running stable but he just called me and keeps getting "dns errors" when surfing, no matter what site he tries to get (yahoo.com / microsoft.com / google.com) he keeps getting the same error. When I left internet worked like sunshine and nothing seemed wrong, can anyone help me out?

type nslookup it should connect to the default dns server either setup or assigned if not it'll give you an error that should help you figure out where the problem is resetting tcpip wont change much, it sounds like a configuration problem, not a protocol error
