Photoshop Guru's... Creating Thumbnails

Any of you Photoshop users know if it's possible to create a specific sizeed thumbnail image when using the "Automate - Webphoto Gallery" option?

The thumbs I want to create are a bit larger than the output of that function.

Is it possible to do?

Thanks

I never use photoshop to do it but I checked it.
In the Web Photo Gallery window you can select "Custom" in the "Size" dropdown menu.
You can select any size you want.
Hope it helps

Thanks SR,

But the largest selection on there is too small

I know you can set that custom preference on the "resize gallery image" to like 20% and use the output image as your thumbs....but my problem is that my source images for the batch are all different sizes, so I get all different sized thumbs ARRRAGGHHH!!!

I am using version 5.5 does anybody know if the 6.0 upgrade allows you to set an actual size to that "resize main gallery image" instead of just a %percentage?

Thanks for the input thus far guys

This is such a pain!!! Lane I might have to check out that program you suggested.

Why don't you make a simple action that converts the pics exactly as you want. Batch process a whole directory and done.
If you MUST use the autogallery maker from photoshop, just overwrite the pics with those made by the photoshop gallerymaker afterworths.

Once you pull up the web gallery control panel, under options, select gallery thumbnails, then under size, choose custom, then put whatever size you want in the box next to it. I make galleries all the time with it. With thumbs that are 125pixels.

Professor Wizzo, what version you using? In my 5.5 control panel, the only options I see are:

Thumbnais: Small, Medium, Large, (no custom)

Resize Gallery Images: Small, Medium, Large, Custom (the custom resizes to % only, not size)

I downloaded Arles...pretty cool...works for what I want...but I would rather just be able to do it in Photoshop. Maybee I need to upgrade.

You can make your own thumbs in PhotoShop. Just select the area you want with the marquee tool, and over on the marquee options, drop down to "constrained aspect ratio" - and in width and height, put in your pixel sizes.

Good god, that would take about 100 years to do if you were going to be processing a large amount of files. Either create your own action (with Photoshop) so you can process your image files in batches or just download some freeware...I like Batch Thumbs personally. It is a very simple program that also comes with a handy batch file rename function.

Well, I would agree - if I needed a LARGE number of thumbs created, I'd just make up some actions in photoshop, instead of doing it by hand. But when people talk about making thumbs, I assume that they want to make them for thumbnail galleries. And doing them by hand is the best way to get the best part of the image selected.

Steve...I have about 1000 images I need to make thumbs of....doing it by had would take a few years. I like the photoshop batch function...but it seems that my version 5.5 can oly create batch thumbs into three sizes small, medium, large. The Large option is too small for the size of thumbs I need.

Arles seems to take care of the problem perfectly...great program...Thanks Lane

Photoshop 6.0 had the thumb size option... with 5.5 you might as well go fuck yourself... 100 width or height is the max you will get.
