gkbill and ibill

I just had a friend today that got rebilled on his Visa card from iBill. The only thing is that it showed up as gkbill. He also got a email from iBill saying that he will be getting charged from gkbill on his statement. Has anybody else heard anything about this?

He tried calling gkbill's toll free number and no one answered the phones and the emails bounced back. It looks like gkbill is located in the West Indies.

I've pretty much switched all my sites over to

According to my rep, ibill is working on a new system called the Gcard which is going to replace the old ibill complete. Right now its being beta tested.

So it sounds to me like that rebill you just saw was them implimenting the new system. Hopefully the testing is almost over and this will good news for all ibill clients as they will start processing visa soon! Its also my understanding that once they start processing visa again, credit lines will be opened and they will be able to resume payouts.

Hopefully its all coming together. Im holding my breath for the 5pm cmi update.

They do talk about a gkard at gkbill. So like you say, this is probably their solution to keep rebilling on Visa.

You've met the guy behind gkbill & gkard *hint hint*, they're scrambling to get it all up and done but I guess Ibill is a stubborn one to motivate until their ass is in a sling but things are looking better with the new things

I also had a member from my old site e-mail me asking about it. I had no idea what he was talking about.

Melissa,

I received 5 emails from GKARD explaining that they will not be handling the billing of my account with you.
Thank you,

Greg

I just saw this copy of the email posted on another webmaster board:

Dear iBill Consumer:

The purpose of this e-mail is to inform you of an important billing change. Previously, your credit card has been charged with the descriptor ibillcs.com for your subscription to an Internet website. Going forward, gkbill will now be the new billing agent. During your next billing cycle, your credit card statement will contain a new descriptor, gkard load*gkbill.com. This change will be effective on your next billing cycle. As an added feature of this change, you now have a gkard, VISA Electronic Card, which has been loaded with the appropriate billing amount for your subscription.

No additional changes to your existing subscription have been made and you will not experience any service interruptions.

By switching billing agents, your last rebill may have been slightly delayed. As result of bringing your account up to date, you might see two charges on your next credit card statement to coincide with the delayed and current charge. For information regarding your subscription 1XXXXXXXXXXX, please visit http://www.ibillcs.com.

I think they should have dumbed this notice down a little. How many consumers know what a descriptor is?

Interesting.

http://www.gkbill.com/

Whois info indicates this was registered on October 7th 2004 by the "Muscato Corp."

Domain in email contact is http://www.m2-corp.com

Yahoo finance profile for Mr. Muscato's company:

http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/117/117089.html

At least this doesn't seem like a shady corp, upon reading their profile.

This is great news but some of you just want to bitch. I am sure they have done the research on this and I expect them to take Visa within 2 days.
