TAKE NOTE OF THIS! I am, as we speak, talking with my brother through email to help him nuke this fuckin' thing on his system. We were goin' crazy trying to figure out what the hell, because the antivirus scanners will not pick it up. Well, looks like we found it.

THANK YOU NUC!

Amutate,

then you will love this. I am not sure where it is, but the registry is backed up after each change. If you can find the backup you can simply restore it I would think to fix the registry. I am not that familliar with windows systems, but this should work.

So you get an email with a link title START and you click on it and you get the virus. Ok, so who would click a link like that if it showed up in their email box? Are there people who will click anything put in front of them to see where it goes? And it can only be spread by forwarding it to people. LOL

Okay, I have been told you can just boot Dos and type: scanreg /r to restore the registry backup.

Apparently it will then show a screen with the last 5 backups and the dates they were made to choose from to restore.

Hope this helps guys.

Restoring the reg from backups only work as long as you haven't rebooted 5 times. Each reboot rotates the backups down the list. You *can* reset this to hold more than 5 backups, but I don't remember how. Setting it higher is a good idea since most people seem to want to try a reboot several times to fix a problem. You could reboot yourself right out of a viable copy!

Am sure there are 10' of 1,000's of people
that would click on it.
After all there are 10's of 1,000,000,000's
of people on the Internet.

I do online software maintenance and you would not believe some of the shit I go through and the software I maintain is very simple to use (does alot) but simple to use.

And then when you have them goto Dos
and start typing command's, (on that point I
bet most of the people on this board would have to be held by the hand like a little baby) give it up Jack. I have to
deal with people that have not gone as far in
school as me and am a 5th grade drop out.

It's the same flaw abused by people who install bookmarks, change homepages or install dialers so people connect to the Internet without knowing it at 3-7 bucks a minute...
