How can I see people who are trying to log onto my wireless router?
I got a Linksys WRT54g, I got WEP setup and all the fancy stuff, and I see a few (4) unsecured networks in my range, and I was ableto jump on their network and use their internet, just wondering if there is a program I can use that'll log in real time people trying to connect to my router, and show the mac addy and other stuff?

Techies correct me if I am wrong.
Status--> Local Network --> DHCP Client Table Should show all live connections to your network. The one thing I am not sure about is if thats live connections from networked PCs in your own home network or outside PCs as well.

If you log in to the router and go under the administration tab, there is a "log" selection, hit that and it will allow you to enable or disable logging. If it is already enabled, click on the incoming log and it should show you all the activity at the router. If not enabled, enable it and then go back a couple of days later and you should be able to see any connection attempts I believe.

Log into 192.168.1.1 , pass is admin (leave user empty) from your main machine. I assume you have one hardwired to the router?
1- Change the password from admin to your choice 2- click wireless 3-click wireless security Fro here you set Security more to WEP, set default key 1, set WEP Encryption to 64 bits. Leave Passphrase empty. In Key 1 enter 10 numbers you will remeber. Now hit save. Go to your laptop and try to connect, I wont..yoou have to enter those ten numbers you enterd for Key 1 Good luck with it. If you have problems, ics me tomorow. EDIT: Dang I just read you have WEP setup already..lol. Oh well, if anyone needs to set it up read above..hehe

![]() http://www.blackalchemy.to/project/fakeap/ If one access point is good, 53,000 must be better. Black Alchemy's Fake AP generates thousands of counterfeit 802.11b access points. Hide in plain sight amongst Fake AP's cacophony of beacon frames. As part of a honeypot or as an instrument of your site security plan, Fake AP confuses Wardrivers, NetStumblers, Script Kiddies, and other undesirables.

Drive through an apartment building complex or right next to a hotel or office building and the scope goes off the hook finding networks. ![]()
